Cypress Lakes Country Club
About
Cypress Lakes Country Club is the centerpiece of the Ormond community, a neighborhood of more than 500 homes. Blending seamlessly into the surrounding cypress trees, the golf course is both challenging and scenic. You'll have to navigate your way around 17 different ponds that come into play throughout the course. With several forced carries over wetlands, it will feel like there is water at every turn. There are also 40 strategically placed bunkers bordering the greens and fairways. It's a layout that will test your accuracy and ability to strategize. Multiple sets of tees keep scratch golfers happy while beginners can also approach the course with confidence. In addition to the golf course, Cypress Lakes has a practice facility featuring a 400-yard driving range with multiple targets and putting and chipping greens.

Worth the drive from the city
This course was is in B shape the greens were a little hairy but the rest of the course was in good shape. The staff was super friendly and helpful. . I would recommend this place to try if you are a local or a visitor
Challenging to say the least
My first round at Cypress was fun. Fairways are narrow and require accuracy but sloppy shots were playable. There are many water hazards so bring plenty of balls or scuba gear. The greens were medium speed and several holes had sand areas where repairs had been made. Fairways are well groomed. Bunkers looked nice, but of the 3 I landed in, 1 was flooded with water and the other 2 were hard like concrete. Scenery is nice and the houses nearby are very nice. Carts were clean and fast. Attendants were college age and very well mannered. One young man even asked if he could help me get my clubs from my car to the cart. Overall, the play was satisfying but would be better with some tlc. At the time of this review, the course has only been open about a week after the Covid19 hoohah.
Course is in great shape but a few greens need a little more work
Caught a Hotdeal
Caught a Hotdeal on a Sunny Saturday, so I knew it would be busy. Great fun course, and enjoyed it. Look out for the canals that you can’t see from the tee box, and if you are a high handicapper, bring some extra balls. Fast greens when I played. Staff was great and helpful.
Finally dry!
Had a blast playing with my girlfriend as my caddy.Shot a 93 but should have been at least 7 strokes better! Oh well that's the game! Go get ya some
When ever other course is underwater, Cypress Lakes is good to go!
South Louisiana has been having rain all day so a lot of courses are underwater, changed to par 3’s, and just closed for months but Cypress Lakes has amazing drainage and kept very well despite all the rain.
I know the owner well and saw him cutting grass
Nice to see even the owner willing to do what it takes along with the awesome staff.
Food is excellent also, highly recommend this course.
Cajunsaint64 ad his girlfriend caddie
This is always a good test for players, just wish it wasn't so darn wet! I crushed 3 seperate drives in fairways and the ball plugged and got lost! Oh well ,that's golf...GO PLAY A ROUND...Have Fun....cajun!
Ormond beauty
Played this course before, but this time every aspect of my outing was really enjoyable. Will definitely be back..GO GET YA SOME!
First timers at this course
This was a great course for the money. Greens were on a scale 1-5 a 3 1/2! Fairways 1-5 were a 4.
The rough was rough. Some paces we needed a seat belt to not be thrown from the cart. Grass in the rough was scratchy. Lots of bare spots. Scale 1-5 the rough was a 2. The score don’t reflect the over all picture of the course. After a down pour for an hour, the fairways and greens drained of on a scale of 1-5 truly a 10. We were able to continue our round and 90 degree rule. I would highly recommend this course. Staff were very accommodating and extremely nice. Staff scalpel 1-5 I would give them a 7. Good luck and hit em straight.
From The ATL
Course was a little difficult to navigate @ first (definitely the 1st whole, but eventually I got my thoughts together. They do give you a book to show the layout. You can tell the Staff is making an effort to bring the course up to par. The staff is great! Will play it again when I revisit the city.
Getting Better Everytime
I play this course somewhat often (at least once a month or so) and each time I play it, it has improved. Challenging course with plenty of water, but still fun to play. You can tell that the ownership and staff are trying to improve the course. Worth the price and one of the better courses in the River Parish area.
Challenging and nice course
aside from the greens being mostly uncut (many were like shag carpet!), a good layout and challenging course.
The course is nice
Played on Wednesday. It was a little hot but the course was in pretty good shape. Had a good day!
