Grand Ridge Golf Club
About
Grand Ridge Golf Club is tucked away in the swamplands of St. Charles Parish, La. This scenic course is dappled with towering cypress trees and ancient oaks draped in moss. There are enough challenges on the golf course to keep the beautiful backdrop from being too distracting though. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes and the tight fairways are lined with trees. You'll need to have accurate drives in order to put you in a good position for the approach to the equally challenging greens. The golf course is a fair test that is player friendly enough to appeal to low and high handicappers alike. Grand Ridge Golf Club's signature hole is the par-5 15th. This tough 515-yard hole starts off with a tee shot over a pond up a narrow, tree-lined fairway.

Average Course
Greens in excellent shape. Tee boxes and fairways were bad. Lots of weeds. Traps looked like they had not been worked in weeks. I have seen this course in a lot better shape.
Great Times
Enjoyed the course today. Fairways are a little hard, but I enjoyed the distance it gave me. Greens are in excellent shape. Slow but true. My group really likes playing at Grand Ridge.
grand ridge a fun play
good course, decent test, whole downside was how course still hadn't tried out from rain on Monday, and a guyg mowing greens and tee boxes, following us for 3 or 4 holes
Fun little track
In town for business and wanted to get out of the city for a round. Had a really good time at Grand Ridge, but man was it wet. For a semi-private course, I was expecting much better. The fairways hadn't been mowed in what seemed like weeks. Back 9 was way better than the front i felt, but overall the course was very easy. My only real complaint is their yardage markers seemed like they were about 25 yards longer than actual. Using the 150 stake as a reference is treacherous, seemed like I was always at least a club short. Very scenic though, winds through a very nice neighborhood. Clubhouse was a bit of a joke and the kid working was either anti-social or extremely hungover. Possibly both. Will definitely play again in hopes that it's dried out.
Avg. Course
Course was ok, we played after a rain so it was COP, so it hard to rate a course under those conditions.
Much improved course
It was first time i played this course in 3 years. Wow; pretty substantial improvement in up keep. The tee boxes have been upgraded and look great (whereas before they were shabby at best), the fairways/rough were well delineated, where before you may have been in the fairway but you wouldn't know if b/c lies were not good. Greens are fairly slow, but true...the course now must cut the greens differently as they played much better as well. Overall, the course is playing much better and I will definitely be back.
A picture of Louisiana, beautiful and fun to go play
I have been playing this course for over 15 yrs. about once or twice a year . For a few years it was getting a little run down ,it recently changed management and it looks like the course is really starting to turn around . Four of us from around the country played the day after Christmas it had rained two days before so the fairways were still a little wet but the greens were in great condition and fun to read ,some of the trees have been removed which makes it a little easier to play since the course is already really tight . Being from Cajun country the course is a great picture of Louisiana's natural beauty . Hope you enjoy it as much we did .
Awesome
Great for the price. Awesome staff. Really really fun round and I play a lot. Definitely best in the area
A pearl in the rough
I found the course beautiful. Narrow fairways challange your skills with some forgiveness. the greens were in great shape and were fun to read(you have to read them) They didn't have water on the course but there were only a few golfers the day we went. Staff was great and very friendly! I will definately go again!
Be ready for tight fairways...
I enjoyed the course. The people took care of me, even though my tee time was dropped from their computer. Fairways are tight, but a lot of forgiveness on the fringes. Definitely would play here again.
Have been a member here in the past and the course has gone through some management changes but still needs work.
Former club member. Course has seen a lot of changes in the past seven years and is still in need of work The fairways have several different grasses, when you can find grass. The greens are always slow, much like Velcro. Fairways are tight even after the removal of numerous trees. Staff is friendly.
front nine closed for repairs
Booked online and received the Birthday rate. Upon arrival was informed the front nine was closed so we chose the option of playing the back nine twice as we drove 25 miles and did not want to get a rain check. The need for drinking water on the course needs to be addressed as it was 90 degrees and no water. At the end of nine we entered club house for a hot dog and there weren't any . Ifcourse is undergoing renovations and repairs they should not be listed as an option on the website till finished
Fairways are terrible
The only downside to this course is that the fairways are terrible. It's like playing out of someone's backyard except worse because a lot of spots on the fairway don't have grass.
Worn out goat track...out in the sticks
I'm not going to waste too many words here....This course is a waste of time. Total farm field fairways, bad greens, NO SERVICE from the staff..NO STARTER, MARSHALL..or anything else....Better yell pretty loud to get service at what they call the Bar/ Snack area..... Oh yeah...it's about a 30 minute drive from downtown New Orleans
Hidden Gem destined to be a diamond one day!
From what I understand, this course is going through an imporvement phase. But that's not to say it's in bad shape right now! It's a fun track that twist and turns in a neighborhood. But hit either way but straight, and you might find yourself in a less than difficult lye! Nevertheless, it's a fun course and great value for the cost. I imagine they may increase in the future, but before then, the greens will need a little work. The fairways are in good shape, but the greens were a little soft almost mossy like. I imagine its from the area, but once that gets under control it will be a place to play during your stay in the Big Easy! Don't forget to stop by the kitchen....the food is really good!
Hit em' str8
Decent course. Nothing fancy, great laid back vibe, very relaxing enviornment
Played here w/ my wife and we had a great time. Extremely friendly staff, affordable rates, and smoking drink specials on Thirsty Thursdays! Cool little course, but the highlight had to be the 4' alligator that we saw in a water hazard! Have fun and hit it straight.
