About
Heron Lakes Golf Club is home to two championship courses designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, the Great Blue Course and the Greenback Course. Both utilize the rugged natural terrain in different ways, offering challenges that will appeal to both low and high handicappers. The Greenback Course is a versatile parkland layout that is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. It is a less demanding design than the Great Blue but it still has plenty of challenges in store. There are 86 bunkers framing the elevated greens and six ponds come into play throughout however the mature trees present the most prominent threat. The par 3s on this golf course can be especially tough. The more challenging elements are nicely balanced by large, inviting greens and generous landing areas.

A Good Public Course
I haven't been here in years. Good to know the course is well maintained and very playable with plenty of challenge for the weekend duffer or the low handicapper.
Tee times
It is very hard to get a tee time.I really enjoy playing both courses.They’re both in good condition.Pace of play could be faster.very hard to get a early tee time.
Loved the whole experience
Today was good weather,rained 3days in a row today no rain course was perfect. Can't wait to do it again
Great track
The greenback course was in great shape today. Greens were nicely manicured and the different cuts of fringe and rough were done well. Cups were in excellent condition. I was early this morning 7:20 tee time. Played solo. Took 2.5 hours to play 18. Awesome course. Will definitely go again. Always a morning time for me. Afternoons I hear it can get a little slow out there
Over Priced
Poorly irrigated fairways that have many brown spots. Greens very hard and fast with brown spots where ball marks should be.
Clubhouse staff unfriendly. Outside ports potties rather than actual rest rooms.
Way over priced.
The BUNKERS
The maintenance of the bunkers is horrible! No sand, weeds growing out of them.

Good course except the bunkers are in bad shape, no sand, not maintained, weeds. If golfers are expected to play out of these then the maintenance crew needs to put some effort in.
Good course
This course, as well as many in the area, has got to start maintaining the bunkers and sand traps. If we are now expected to play out of these courses must put the effort into making them playable post pandemic.

GREAT COURSE, IN GREAT SHAPE!!
Concession needs to add AMBER. beer as a choice to give an option to those not into IPA’s. COLD BEER would be appreciated.
Divots
The par 3's are like a war zone, no sand to fix the divots.
I get it because of Covid, but send someone out at least once or twice a week to fill the divots marks
This coarse is in good shape
Coarse was in good shape and was very busy today but all in all enjoyed greenback!!
