Decent but overpriced
Overpriced for the end of June in Arizona. Was 105 degrees out and still paid $115. Course was not in as good of shape as I would have hoped. Greens were very sandy. We played Troon North the weekend before playing here and paid $85 and it was in MUCH better condition. GPS on the carts is a bit janky for this course being at a Hilton.
Fun course with great desert views
First time at the Boulders and look forward to playing again. I played the South course from the Blue tees. Course was a good mix of long drives to get to some of the par 4s and some 210-230 drives to get in the best position. Found the greens to be mixed (as expected in the desert) with some holding a shot and others letting it roll to the bag.
Tips: don't be on the short side of the greens since it is hard to get a short chip to hold.
- play with someone who has played out there before. Cart paths are intertwined like spaghetti between holes.
Awesome
I have not been to the Boulders in a while and expectations were exceeded. Awesome everything. Can’t wait to get back again. Thanks.
Should be posted that the greens were just punched shouldn’t be a surprise when we get to the course
First time boulders player
Not my type of course. I like courses with green from tee to green. Every hole required a hit over desert conditions. I had no problem with these conditions but not what I prefer.
South course in very bad shape - do not play
South course fairways poor and greens are in seriour redo and are hard as a rock and impossible to putt. Downhill putts must be running in 20s.
South Course
Played the South Course over Memorial Day weekend. Layout was scenic and challenging. Course was incredibly firm and fast. Greens were rolling at 12 on the stimpmeter according to starter Tony, who was a super helpful guy. Bag drop guy said the South is a good 6-8 shots harder than North, so the South is what you want to play for the value. 10/10 will be back.
Beautiful course with great staff …. However inconsistent course quailty
The greens were very patchy and infested with different grass species.
The boulders is an absolute treat to play with all of its beautiful scenery and in my opinion, is worth the going rate usually charged... USUALLY LOL.
Currently the course isn't worth more than 95$ at peak hours on the weekend... however they are still charging practically TPC prices.
Play Quintero or Dove Valley Ranch instead when prices and quality is in flux at the boulders!
Overpriced
We had a group of 7 from Alberta and were charged $300 each so we had pretty high ecxpectations as this was almost double what we paid out of the 5 rounds we played including TPC. The practice facility was closed the greens were by far the poorest shape the cart lady was no where to be found. Not one of are group will ever come back. You are off the list for next year’s trip.
Great scenery at Boulders
If you want a scenic round of golf, this is the place. Beautiful desert landscape peppered with amazing boulder structures, many right in the line of play. The course itself was narrow desert style, which takes Driver out of your hand on many holes. A few have forced layups or de facto forced layups due to the narrow fairways. In my opinion, your money is better spent at other Scottsdale tracks but you won’t regret playing here. Staff friendly, greens did have a lot of Poa in them and they didn’t always roll that great. Other than the greens course in great shape.
Best of The Boulders Package
