Eagle Mountain Golf Club
About
Designed by Scott Miller, this course is located in the southeastern foothills of the McDowell Mountains and is an innovative departure from the “target” style courses constructed in the desert in the recent past. Its layout takes advantage of a variety of land features: rolling hills, ridgelines, lush valley and washes, with a backdrop of prominent mountain outcroppings. In many instances, long extended views into untouched desert landscapes and area landmarks, such as Camelback Mountain, will be afforded. It is a strategic design, which asks the player to make choices relative to skill level.

Great day at Eagle Mountain! Photo submitted by uOQDZ5699OQ on 09/26/2012
4hr 15 min pace of play
Tee time was for 11:10am. Pace of play - 4hrs 15 mins. If you play early mornings the pace is typically faster. Average condition for this time of year (fairways average+ condition, dormant grass if you miss the fairway). Greens were in good condition. It is what it is.
Eagle Mtn. is in good shape
Greens and Fairways are in great shape.
I always grab a grilled hot dog or brat on the 10th tee!
Thank you for the 5 stars
Nice Course
This is a nice course that is normally priced too high for my budget. We got a fairly good price in early January which was still more than I like to pay to play golf. The course is very nice, and very playable for most skill levels. I would play here more often if it were more affordable.
Vancouver Golfers
This is a favourite place for us to play but the price is usually higher than we would like. Got a deal on GOLFNOW or we would have go elsewhere. MAC
Thank you for your comments. For future reference GolfNow pulls rates from our website so their rates are exactly the same as our website. In addition, if you paid booking fees your rate was actually higher than had you booked through our website.
Gorgeous course. Love how the fairways sometimes funnel your shots toward the green.Think you are close….. but challenging rough , well placed sand traps and fast undulating greens make you work for those pars!
Super sad it’s double the price, from pre-Covid.
Good course overall
Course in good condition overall. PAce of play good . Staff friendly and helpful
Great value
Course conditions, layout, & amenities were great. For this time of year, pricing was definitely fair. Elevation changes provide great views & challenging shot selection.
Best course to start off your trip.
This course truly was beautiful especially at sunrise. The range and practice greens were wonderful. I’m like a 10 handicap golfer and I thought this was an absolute perfect course to really test myself but not be too difficult. Everything sloping to the fairways really helps if you’re not a talented tee box hitter and had surprisingly slower greens that were forgiving. Best course to start off a boys golf trip or just to see a beautiful course. Oh and the hot dogs were amazing. Staff was stellar and had plenty of water and bathrooms on the course. I’ll definitely be playing here again.
Awesome track, but prepping for overseed
First time playing the course and really enjoyed the challenging layout. The track is very creative and fun, but the conditions were a little rough in places as the course is being prepped for over seeding. This still exceeded my expectations for the day even if some fairway patches were dried out.
Beautiful Views with challenges everywhere.
I played with my son and absolutely believe this to be one of the best courses we have played. The fairways were great, greens were a tad slow but very consistent. We played SunRidge Canyon Golf Club the next day, and feel that Eagle Mountain Golf Club was definitely a better deal with better views.
Fun time
We loved the course layout and scenery. Fairways wide enough to allow for some slight mistakes. Challenging but not overly punitive. Other than the greens the conditions were awesome. Greens were really slow which was a disappointing at the price we paid.
Nice variations in layout & elevations
As an easterner playing this course, we were entertained and enjoyed the valley views! The course was entertaining and fairways were in nice shape as well as the Tee boxes.
Place of play was good but at times we ran up on the group ahead of us on Par 3's. I would certainly play it again but my experience with Desert golf is not extensive.
Seafury
Eagle Mountain has always been one of my favorite courses. The condition was very good considering the time of the year as right in the middle of the summer. My issues come from the pricing. Our tee time was at 2:10pm and it was 105 degrees however they do provide coolers with ice and drinking water on the course. The green fees were $60.00 including tax. At this price you would think that the cart would have ball tees and GPS but no.
We-Ko-Pah Golf Course just a couple miles down the road has two 18-hole championship courses that provide Arizona resident rates that Eagle Mountain does not. With that rate you can play any time of the day and it is just a few dollars more with all the luxuries that you would expect with the that type of pricing. Sorry for the long rant. Eagle Mountain is a very good course but too high on their green fees at 2:00pm in the good old summertime!!
Thank you for your comments.
