Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed Las Sendas Golf Club's course, opened in 1995 and among the toughest U.S. courses. Two Zagat surveys have ranked it among the top 50 U.S. golf courses.

Las Sendas Golf Club offers a desert course demanding top play as it takes golfers through the Usery Mountains, with a vista of Phoenix as the tradeoff for managing rough land close to 1,800 feet above the desert. Jones didn't create a course with whimsical decorations like railroad ties, and he didn't build targets. The golf course is for those who strategize, mapping the way from tee to green.

After a round at Las Sendas Golf Club, head to Las Sendas Grille, for the full bar, including wines from California, Australia and Europe, as well as four tap beers and domestic and imported bottles.

Not worth the money

Course is in terrible shape. Brown spots throughout the course. Greens were horrible. Not worth playing... save your money.

Great and challenging course

Course was in good condition for the time of the year. Even though aerated warnings it appeared only the tee box was aerated. Fairways and greens were in good form. Staff was great and friendly.

Course condition is horrible

The cost isn't worth your time. Comparing this to ocotillo golf club and saying ocotillo is 100% better condition is insane. Not to mention the marshals driving by every other hole to check pace of play…. I wouldn't recommend playing here right now.

You got to play Las Sendas!

After months waiting, I finally had the opportunity to play Las Sendas GC, in Mesa, AZ. A very nice golf course, with pretty views and some challenging holes. If you haven’t play it yet, I’d suggest to consider it.

Excellent. However, it is transitioning to summer turf

The fairways are in good condition, but the greens have holes for aeration and a lot of sand. Putting was challenging, but everything else was satisfying. I plan to visit again next time.

The course conditions

The greens had just been punched, so there were some understandable issues there. The problem that i had was that the fairway grass was extremely thin, or nonexistent in a number of areas.

Terrible

Scumbags in the clubhouse didn’t have the decency to notify us that the greens were punched when we booked the tee time and didn’t say anything when we paid for our tee time either. They also don’t have it advertised on their website if you book online. Course was in terrible shape. Fairways were muddy or just straight dirt. $100 for a round in these conditions is atrocious.

There’s a reason to keep coming back.

This course is simply one of my favorites in Arizona, and in my opinion one of the most underrated. Staff is always friendly, nice facilities, complimentary range access, great track, and really in pretty solid shape for this time of year. Getting to take a foursome out on this course for around 110 bucks total is an absolute STEAL, and something I can say enough positive things about. I always look forward to warmer weather, as it means the course is nearly empty meaning excellent pace, great views, and lower rates. Worth every penny and more, especially compared to so many neighboring courses with far lesser conditions/design at this price!

Course conditions

This is a great course, but unfortunately is in bad shape. Lots of burnout in the fairways, very little sand in the bunkers and hardly any grass on the greens. I would wait until winter to play here again.

Would be great in March

Not their fault, but the course showed the climate conditions. Greens were hard with some thin spots. Fairways were in great shape. Cart paths not well marked for appropriate tees. 18th hole needs line of play to be more evident.
