About
Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed Las Sendas Golf Club's course, opened in 1995 and among the toughest U.S. courses. Two Zagat surveys have ranked it among the top 50 U.S. golf courses.
Las Sendas Golf Club offers a desert course demanding top play as it takes golfers through the Usery Mountains, with a vista of Phoenix as the tradeoff for managing rough land close to 1,800 feet above the desert. Jones didn't create a course with whimsical decorations like railroad ties, and he didn't build targets. The golf course is for those who strategize, mapping the way from tee to green.
After a round at Las Sendas Golf Club, head to Las Sendas Grille, for the full bar, including wines from California, Australia and Europe, as well as four tap beers and domestic and imported bottles.

Great course... slow play
We have played this course yearly on golf trips. Always an enjoyable course and layout. Course was in very in very nice condition. Unfortunately there was a members tournament in front of us and even though there were only six groups they were very slow. Round took 5 hrs when their posted time is 4 hrs 15 mins. We waited every hole. Marshals were on course during first nine holes but not seen for back nine. In any event they made no effort to quicken the pace.
The check in process was ok but no info provided on where carts were, no bag drop, no info on course or driving range etc. Basically a lack of concern that we were coming to play the course.
After the round we usually go to the restaurant and did again this time. But they have changed the menu and it is heavy on the seafood and not really what we were looking for.
Very nice course but we may pass next year.

Good experience
My only criticism would be better signage for each hole, direction markers to next hole and yardage markers to green on fairways.

Las Sendes, Awesome
We booked our tee time because of a friends recommendation. Unfortunately we did not know until we got to the course that golf carts were not allowed on the course. I have an issue with gout on my my foot but I thought we would try and play not fully understanding the amount of walking required. We played the first nine and then realized I would not be able to complete the back nine.
We went to the clubhouse and expressed our not being able to finish the back nine. The professional expressed his regret and simply said “ how can we accommodate this situation. I asked him when carts would be allowed on the course and he indicated that this would happen on Monday morning. I said I would love to play the course again at that time. They offered my wife and I another round at a reduced rate.
This course represents a professional perscotive in every way. Looking forward to another try next week.

worth doing
Was very windy and really affected your shots, even when you tried to play for it. Rained hard for last 4 holes so we were soaked and just wanted to get it over with.
Cart path only due to overseeding and course has not fullly grown out yet. But it was in great shape.
Greens are small and hard. Had many shots that were high and hit on the green where I wanted and rolled off. Learned to adjust and generally hit shorter and hope for roll onto green.
Scenery and views are awesome.
Will play again on a day without the wind and rain.
A bit pricey for what it is.

Overpriced
Golfed here several times in the past several years. Now there are a lot better options for this price point. Slow service, borderline uncaring. Course was in good shape.
