The golf course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club is a beautifully designed layout set against a desert landscape with rock formations, mesquite trees, and cacti. Pete and Perry Dye designed the course, combining both beauty and challenge. This championship course was built on rolling terrain and has large, sharply contoured greens and extensive mounding that is reinforced with railroad ties. There are not only deep sand bunkers but also grass bunkers protecting the greens. There are also four ponds on the course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club, but only three create water hazards that come into play on four holes. A notable hole on the course in which water comes into play is the sixth, a hole that has a peninsula green with water surrounding it along three sides.

Great course, nice views

The course is still coming out of overseeding so CPO for the round, makes it play a little slower but still just over 4 hours. The course is in great shape for the time of year and the overseeding. I will play here again, Pete Dye is a genius.

RM CC

Very nice course, well maintained and challenging. Small bag of range balls for $10, cart came around twice. It just rained, so cart path only was a little frustrating. All around good time and good course.

Nice course!

Great layout! Greens and fairways were in great shape. The only area I would recommend improvement in is to pay more attention to maintenance on some of the holes. There are some areas that are falling into disrepair and need a little fixing. Other than that, course is solid. Would definitely play here again.

Slow play

This is a decent track, nice layout and super friendly staff, but once on the course play is slow as there was no ranger to be seen for the entire round.

We were behind a foursome from hole #1 until hole 16 when they finally allowed us to play through. These guys were all over the course and no ranger on the course to keep them moving.

Excellent layout, the greens are extremely slow, some fairways needs a little TLC and I suspect once they greens are cut they should be good.

Overall this course is not worth what they’re charging to play.

Great round at Red Mountain

First rounds after overseed, course looked beautiful and played well just a little less roll out due to wetter conditions in the fairways but overall not an issue. Love this course, will be back

Struggling…even for this time of year

I’ve played here several times over the last four years. It’s always been a great deal considering it’s a Pete Dye course. Not the case now. Conditions were comparable to Apache Creek. The difference is that the latter doesn’t pretend to be a great course. This place had HUGE swaths of bare dirt in the fairways but that was borderline tolerable. The burned out fairways and tees were understandable given the time of year. What wasn’t tolerable were diseased and mixed greens. The holes were the worst I’ve seen in AZ for several years (see pics). Morning bag drop attendant barely moved when we were loading up. Asked desk guy “I know overseeding is coming but how are the greens?” His response: “what do you want me to tell you? It’s late summer.” Nah…the fact some greens were mediocre while others (half) were dreadful with week old hole locations is simply lack of effort. Bunkers were 50/50. Water features half drained. This won’t be in decent shape until at least mid November or later if they try now.

Red Mountain Country Club

Pete Dye was a very mean person.

The course is always difficult enough, add the moguls and the green undulation. A Challenge!

Challenging course

Outstanding course if you're need the fairways you are in trouble. Lots of different looks from the tee box. Make sure you pay attention to the course book.
