The golf course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club is a beautifully designed layout set against a desert landscape with rock formations, mesquite trees, and cacti. Pete and Perry Dye designed the course, combining both beauty and challenge. This championship course was built on rolling terrain and has large, sharply contoured greens and extensive mounding that is reinforced with railroad ties. There are not only deep sand bunkers but also grass bunkers protecting the greens. There are also four ponds on the course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club, but only three create water hazards that come into play on four holes. A notable hole on the course in which water comes into play is the sixth, a hole that has a peninsula green with water surrounding it along three sides.

Great course but let a 5-some out in front of us

Great course.. Fairways are in good condition given the time of year. The greens were a good speed but very firm. Given the elevated greens and firm conditions, they were hard to hit and stick. Layout is good but there a few blind shots. Generally, I do like the course.

The only issue with this round is they let a 5-some go out. Ok, I had a late tee time (1:30). That questionable group stared as a foursome with one non-player but that lasted one hole. To compound the issue, that group was 5 minutes late to the first tee, (started had to go find them), kept saying "oh are we up" and then had a very long discussion about which tees to play. Meanwhile, the group in front of them had long since finished the hole even before they hit their first shot.. Oh well, I did finish but in the dark,.

Nice course BUT

We had a 1:29 tee time

I was hoping to get 16, 17 And if we got lucky the full round

Played the front nine in over 2 1/2 hours got 14 holes in

The cart girl told us we were behind a tournament

They should be ashamed either you put in a buffer or enforce pace of play

It’s unfortunate because the back line looked spectacular

Not even close to what it used to be

Disappointed... This was a great course 3 years ago. It was very good 2 years ago. Last year I only played it once right after overseeding, so I can't comment. This year first round and it did not have a good overseeding, bunkers near the lakes we're full of water. Bunkers overall we're rocky. Greens we're very spotty but rolled well. They would not hold at all.

Challenging pin placements and fast greens

The course was in great shape, but the bunkers need some love and fresh sand, several water puddles and it wasn't due to rain. The staff was courteous and accommodating. I'll be back next time I visit.

Cart girl

Unfortunately, we only saw the car girl one time during the whole entire round. We finally saw her again when we finished whole 18 and we asked, why didn’t we see you and she said “I was busy” for around that cost over $100. I would expect to have the chance to buy a drink

Brutal slow play

The pace of play was brutally slow. Over 3 hours to play 11 holes. No Marshall in sight to speed up play. And had waited up to 20 minutes on one tee before was able to play. As it was after 4:00 at that point I knew I wouldn’t finish before dark. So I drove back to the clubhouse and left. I was told by the staff who cleaned my clubs that there was a stag event out on the course and that was probably why so slow. Still did not justify slow play.

The condition of the course was average at best. But still charges full rates. There are better conditioned courses in the area that charge less so I probably won’t be back.

Greens mostly back and fast

A few bare spots on a couple of greens (17), but otherwise course has over-seeded well.
