The golf course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club is a beautifully designed layout set against a desert landscape with rock formations, mesquite trees, and cacti. Pete and Perry Dye designed the course, combining both beauty and challenge. This championship course was built on rolling terrain and has large, sharply contoured greens and extensive mounding that is reinforced with railroad ties. There are not only deep sand bunkers but also grass bunkers protecting the greens. There are also four ponds on the course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club, but only three create water hazards that come into play on four holes. A notable hole on the course in which water comes into play is the sixth, a hole that has a peninsula green with water surrounding it along three sides.

Great Course needs a Starter

I like this course , the layout and overall experience is very good!

I’ve paid and played all different times of year. Would have enjoyed Prime time playing better if there were on course service. Starter and Beverage cart as a minimum

Enjoyable course

My only negative was the very poor selection of rental clubs. We were rented clubs that had 4-5 different club manufactures in the bag. An important tourist location should have top of the line rentals.

KC Rick

Only criticism I had is the owners have let the desert portion of course go, Erosion and weeds on banks and valleys were unsightly. Course itself, fairway and rough, were good, they just completed overseeding. Everything week se was good. Greens we’re getting better after overseeding.

Watch out for green complexes-WOW

Beautiful facility ….course is awesome-a true test of distance control with irons and short game prowess!!

Only criticisms is a pitiful landing zone on range & gravel in the bunkers…

Range may it be a big deal but fix the bunkers, plz

Looking for a quick 9 holes

Coming off of a sinus infection, I wanted to get back into the swing of things. Being overseeding season, it was cart path only, but the course was pretty wide open, so I managed to play in 1 hr 20 min without too much rushing Fairways and greens were in excellent condition. Staff was very nice when I checked in, which is always a plus. I have played this course 3x’s now and will be back again!

Don't waste your time.

After 3 hours and 45 minutes our foursome only finished 14 holes. We waited and waited. Why? Tee times were scheduled only 7 minutes apart and the course was cart path only because of overseeding. We quit because we got to 15, a par 3, and were the third group on the hole. Driving in we saw at least 3 groups, mostly foursomes, on every hole. We will not return even though we have enjoyed playing the course in the past.

Nice intermediate course

This course is in nice shape after over seeding. The layout is difficult but fun. We played poorly on the front but very well on the back. We are 14-16 handicap’s. We managed to score very well on the back, but the course has potential to have a very high score.

We enjoyed our round but this course is definitely not for beginners or new golfers.

Nice course

We played here on a Friday midday. The course was in good shape, although like most courses in Phoenix the sand traps were not good. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because it took nearly 5 hours for the round. It appears that lots of locals play and they all know each other and just have no where to be. The staff was friendly.

Highly Recommended

Really enjoyed playing Red Mountain Ranch golf course. The course was challenging, with undulating fairways and greens. Greens and fairways were in excellent shape. Practice range and facilities were available for warm-ups, and were in good shape. The staff were great and the golf club has a good pro shop and restaurant. Carts had to stay on the cart path, which slows pace of play a bit, but this is temporary for overseeding season. A very enjoyable round.

Nice Course

Glad GolfNow had this listed. First time, but definitely not the last time I will play here. The course was in excellent shape. The course is narrow and undulating. The greens were tough, lots of slope, but the course was a good challenge. I typically shot between mid 80’s and 90, but shot 98 today and was happy to escape with that score. The staff was super friendly. The starter/pro shop guy explained the course to us, making sure we knew where the range, putting practice area and where the -at and 10th tees were located. The beverage woman and cart cleaner were very friendly.

If any negative it would be I did not see markers indicating what hole we were at.

A very enjoyable day

A good friend and I played RMR on a beautiful fall day and really enjoyed the round. The staff was all fantastic and the overseeding had really taken very nicely. We had a great time. Thanks RMR.
