Superstition Springs Golf Club
About
The East Valley's Superstition Springs Golf Club offers one of Arizona's most testing layouts, measuring over 7,000 yards, with a slope rating of 130. Golf course architect Greg H. Nash designed the course and worked with the landscape already in place to provide the abundant mounding, wide bunkers and good-looking but tough-playing water features.
By the time he had finished with the Superstition Springs Golf Club, Nash had created a golf course that Golfweek called one of America's Best Golf Courses.
After - or before - a round of golf at the Superstition Springs Golf Club, hit up the restaurant for breakfast, lunch or drinks either inside or on the patio, which overlooks the golf course's signature hole, the ninth.

Challenging Course, Poor Condition
Have played Superstition Springs multiple times over the past few years. Challenging course, long, requires a little thought before teeing off. However, the course was in poor condition. I don't say this lightly. It was bad. I will not be returning anytime soon.
Don't recommend!
Course was in awful condition and ridiculous that they are charging $75.00 this time of year. Softball sized holes on the greens. Fairways sloppy with massive dirt patches on every fairway. Sand traps? More like dirt traps. Many other courses avalible at a better prices. Just played Eagle Mountain for $50.00 and it was in fantastic shape. I would suggest looking elsewhere.
The course is in bad shape
I have played this course several times over the years, and it seems to consistently be getting worse over time. Once it was a well manicured course with a several lakes and quality features. Yesterday was not that. The grass is patchy at best. The fairways are not manicured at all. At one point I was in the middle of the fairway next to the 150 stick and my ball was in 4 inches of grass or other areas there is no grass at all. The greens were also in awful shape with missing grass the bunkers all had 6-8 inches of standing water in the bottom and no sand anywhere. There were more weeds than grass throughout most of the course. All the supposed lakes were basically dry and just mud bogs that smelt like manure from the decay. It probably wouldn’t have been so bad if it was low priced., but instead they trade on a 20 year old reputation to charge nearly as much as high end Scottsdale courses. The local par 3 goat track greenfield lakes is literally in better condition and less than half the price. I nor anyone I speak with will ever play there again unless something is done about the downhill slide of the course. It is a true shame it has gotten this bad. Frankly if it gets any worse I can see the course being closed and houses put up instead.
Worth playing
Greens ere in good shape. Fairways were mostly green and playable. The dry lake beds are pretty ugly
Poor Course Condition
I was quite disappointed to see this course in such poor condition. Granted, the greens were recently punched and sanded, however, the tee boxes and fairways were almost totally burned out with lots of bare spots due to the hot weather. I was surprised to see that all of the lakes or ponds were totally drained, perhaps to conserve ground water. Should have only been charged half the price I paid.
Great Course
There was a hot deal on Golf Now for only $17 to play here. Really good course in good condition, especially for the price!
Disgusting
Disgusting. Trash everywhere, snells terrible throughout the whole course. Dirty. Would not play here again
Way over priced for the condition of the course
Course is poorly maintained….. looks like shrek would live here…
Poor condition
I had played this course about 4 years ago and really enjoyed it. However, this time it was in bad shape. Granted the greens were just punched and sandedThe tee boxes and fairways were in bad shape.. the lakes on the course were drained, probably because of water shortage. Unfortunate that I drove to Phoenix (100 miles) to be disappointed.
What a shame
This use to be a great course. Has a good layout but the condition of the course was worse than bad. No warning on golf now of aerification. The back 9 was closed due to punching of greens so the option was to play the front 9 twice. The punches greens were actually the best part of the course. I didn’t even recognize the 9th hole. It’s not the picturesque hole that is advertised. It’s an overgrown mess. Luckily I did get a good rate so I wasn’t too upset but I will not come down this way ever again to play this course. It should be rated 1 star not 3.5 stars.
Hot and Humid, but better than work.
Played the back nine twice since they were punching the front nine. Course is very dry since no rain for several months. Glad there was ice water on hole number 15 and they gave out ice cold towels at pro shop. The inside manager, Bill, was very friendly and informative about what was going on with course. Will go back again after all 18 holes are done.
course was once a gem
course was in poor condition. tee boxes were gritty, fairways we're mostly brown. there was a time when this course was stunning, now most of the water features are dried up and the overall condition of the course was an extreme disappointment. won't recommend to anyone.
Disappointed
I keep wanting this course to change my opinion of it. Great track just horrible condition. The bunkers are unplayable and have been for years, tee boxes aren’t level and just bad condition all around.
This is not a $70 course, maybe $20 in condition it’s in.
The greens were slow but were not bumpy. I thought they were in great condition for this time of year.
the fairways and tee boxes were a little haggard.
Not great but as expected
Just tired of AZ courses charging more than their poor conditions warrant. Fairways, bunkers, and tee boxes generally poor. Aesthetics are poor given all the dry water areas.
Only positives were the greens which were decent, and the staff. But for $60 on a Thursday morning absolutely not worth it.
Arcis golf can get bent.
