Had paid for 18 holes through Golf Now,; Stonecreek course said rate was only for 9 holes. Check-in desk said is an error in the Golfnow booking . Course was full so was not able to golf 18 holes. Put our foursome of golfers in a tough position with no recourse.
Between Stonecreek and GolfNow this issue should have been avoided.
Back 9 and breakfast
Great value for the dollar spent. He can play the back nine and get breakfast for decent price. Course is in great condition a little bit more of a difficult course with the hills and all of the bushes but great if you wanna work on your game
Love/hate relationship with this course!
If you slice the ball, this course if not for you. They've somehow managed to have an impenetrable/water hazard to the right on almost every hole, and the course slopes towards the hazards. Lots of sloped lies, even in the fairway. Lots of bunkers (they did put new sand in recently which makes them fair), Greens are tiny and many are extremely elevated. This all adds up to very high difficulty.
The reason I play there a lot is because it is very reasonable if you are an Arcis member, and it's close to where I live.
Not Really Impressed
I will say that the course layout was not the greatest. The staff wasn't very friendly either. The golf ranger told us we were on pace to finish on time, but also told us to pick up the pace. The score card did not show a course layout. It was only $50 bucks so it was ok, but it could have been a little better. I will try again when they may not be seeding the course.
Even though they were getting ready for overseeding this course was in very poor condition and pace of play was very slow. It was extremely overpriced for the shape the course was in. Not to mention there was garbage everywhere around this course. The layout itself was very challenging and if this course ever was in good shape it would probably be a nice course to play. I doubt I would come play here again.
Stonecreek Fiasco
Grounds crew was cutting and blowing grass everywhere, your lungs, eyes and noSe were on fire. An absolutely horrible outing. Only played 9 so we could regain our health
Stone creek
Fairways we super wet. Had an 8:18 tee time and fairways were still saturated on the back nine. My buddy hit a nice drive on 11 and his ball stuck in a swamp dead center of the fairway. With that, course was fun and has a challenging layout. Will play again at some point in the future.
Make you think your way around
Unlike so many “bomb and gouge” tracks out there , this course make you think a little about where you want to position your shots.
The super hot AZ summer has it a little burned out with so so greens and not so consistent bunkers. (Yes I visited a few).
I look forward to going back when the weather cools off a little and the winter grass is in.
Pace of play was great. Sub 4 hour round in the heat was appreciated.
review
Seem to have allot of people walking on the wrong paths especially on the 10th hole. Had to wait while they walked by the hole. Golfers are teeing off and they seem totally oblivious to it and they could get hurt!!!!. No water coolers anywhere let golfers know they need to bring their own water. Other courses we have played they had water coolers in abundance. they charged my card for 2 golfers when we checked in and we have always split the fees when checking in. They said that they couldn't do this yet we play many other courses in the Valley and this was a first for us that they said they weren't able to make this change?
A good course overall and good staff...
Park feel
To many people walking their dogs, jogging on and around the fairways. I never have played a course where you had to compete with so many joggers and walkers where you hit your ball. Somebody is going to get hurt someday.
Poor conditiobs
While the greens rolled fairly well, grounds keeping has obviously let the course go. Bare in spots, overgrown most everywhere else, and mostly a mud pit (and we haven’t had rain).
No course official to try and move play along.
