The Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course designed by Arnold Palmer and built in 1997. The par-72 golf course measures 7,145 yards from the tournament tees. "I enjoy designing golf courses that celebrate the sheer fun of golf," Palmer said about this course, "and Wildfire is exactly that."

The Bermuda grass Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club is one of two championship courses at the club. It features a GPS option that offers golfers detailed mapping of the Faldo and Palmer courses, precise yardages for tee shots and approach shots to the greens, and the chance to order breakfast and lunch from the golf cart. Additional features include communication with the golf shop, a CBS Sportsline ticker with all scores 24 hours a day, and the leader board for tournaments. Its sibling, the Faldo golf course, also features the system.

Palmer course definitely plays tough

Initially was greeted by Denza pulling up to the bag drop then easily checked in with Will inthe Pro shop. A truly Wonderful day, a chamber of commerce postcard example of a day, then met up the others I would play with.

I've been to WildFire B4 and looked 4ward to this, 2day did not dissapoint with the starter also giving a good heads up on the speed ofthe greens and they did roll very nice. Conditions were Excellent N lush throughout, even the bunkering sand played well the 4 or 5 times I got there.

Green undulation is tricky to read but felt they rolled true. Winding this up after just under 4 &1/2 hours I met up with Justin who promptly cleaned up My equipment & is certainly cordial as are all the Folks I encounter at WildFire,

Whenever I mention to My associates from the Phillipines or Canada of a destination that is a must go to place to play, WildFire is certainly an easy place to recommend, THANKS -B Well.

Overseed?

Solid course. Greens were excellent. I don’t think the fairways were over seeded and instead painted green. While this didn’t really harm anything besides turning your ball green, a higher end course should be expected to overseed their fairways!

Not Worth It

Definitely not what I was expecting from a $229 round of golf. Dead rough grass, mediocre fairways and green painted grass. Painting your fairways green instead of adequately maintaining them is like putting lipstick on a pig. The only nice part about it were the greens. The greens are in excellent shape.

Expected better

First time playing the Palmer course. The price has always prevented me from booking a tee time. Finally, we were able to secure a reasonable green fee, so booked a tee time. The course is very playable, however there are some holes that some local knowledge would have helped. Fairways and rough were all dormant brown. Areas around the tees and greens had been over seeded. The fairways and rough were certainly in OK condition, but for the price expected the fairways to have been over seeded. Sand in the bunkers was inconsistent. Same had a thin layer and were very firm under the thin layer. Others were fine. We played in just under 4 hours, even letting a single and a twosome play through. Lots of twosomes, threesomes and a few singles . It is a resort course, so there are several sets of tees which make it playable for all skill levels of players. We were paired up with a couple and the lady was a very high handicappers, but she was able to enjoy her round. Overall, an OK course, but not worth the rack rate green fees. Maybe if you are resort guest , you get a break on the green fees. Golf carts have GPS. There were a couple of flags that the distance was off by about 10 yards. Screen was hard to see as the screen was not very bright. Would play the course again if we get a decent price, which should be about $50. The course certainly is not worth the $149 or $229 green fee advertised.

Pale

Seems like every other course has lush, green fairways, this time of year, but not the Palmer course at Wildfire. Not having that extra cushion under your ball seemed to affect some shots. The greens were exceptional, every putt makeable, there were no sudden undulations making your ball turn just before it was to go in the hole.

I was playing the blues, but having issues with getting the ball to the fairway. One of the other golfers showed me the blue/white way of play on the scorecard. Next time I will play that way, as my drives are not as strong as they were in the past.

Wildfire is always a treat !

I finally made it up to Desert Ridge for a round at WildFire since They came off of Cart Path Only & it was worth the wait 2B Sure. Met up with Cameron that day & it was Nice to see Justin again out front when arriving as My equipment was gathered up right away. My time allowed Me to meet up.with Jerry, Wareen & Garrett who definitely helped our group maintain an excellent pace(3.5hours!)

The look of the Palmer course was once again spectacular and condition wise was Fantastic, even the bunkering was in wonderful shape throughout the course. Greens rolled out a couple of extra feet, quicker than They appeared and SMOOTH too. This time of year is when Plenty of courses should be in Prime shape and the Palmer course at WildFire certainly is -B Well.
