Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club at Desert Ridge

Had a great day here! Greens were firm and fast and fairways were perfect, the rye grass was a beautiful dark green, tee boxes and divots were cared for. Snack Cart was pricey at 4 dollars per candy bar :) The resteraunt "Roys" was Pacific Rim incredible!! This is one of my Favorites in AZ and CA

The only reason it's not a 5 is it's not bent grass wall to wall like say Desert Springs or Rams Hill. Plays awesome greens were at about an 11 but very firm.

It was a partly cloudy day with wind from 3 to 20 mph and a high of 60. By the time we left 18's green we were very cold and ready to find a warm place to recover. The course was in very good shape, greens were firm and fast, bunkers had plenty of sand and the staff was wonderful. The starter did a great job of managing our start time which conflicted with a group of members. We had fun and enjoyed the day.

Really fun course! Not a lot of variety but fun holes anyway. Got to find the fairway but not overly long. If you hit it in the dessert it’s probably gone. Greens rolled well, fairways were awesome. Kind of pricey but would play it again.

2nd time I have played this course and fell in love with it again. I love it even more when I cna get a free round which was the case today and the only reason to avoid this place is if you are on a tight budget. Highly recommended

Good layout in great condition with very good service.

Overcrowded. Waiting on every hole before every shot. Otherwise the course in excellent condition, great greens. Will play again, hopefully with a better pace of play.

Marriott always does a great job running and maintaining these courses. The practice facilities are superior, the fairways, greens and bunkers are as good as they get, and the layout of the course is a good challenge. Just a nice place to play golf.

This course is terrific! It is well-groomed, in great condition, has wonderful sand, some water holes, playability, but difficulty if you go too off of the fairways... Just GREAT!

Played Faldo course in great shape, sand traps a little firm, but overall excellent

If you’re a long hitter, play the Tips because Trouble lurks at many of the doglegs. I played with members and was made to feel very welcome. The greens are well bunkered with some having rollout areas...so you need to be tidy on your approaches. Great practice areas ... spend some time beforehand to prep. Get ready for more ‘break’ on the Playing greens than on the practice green.

Staff were very friendly which always leaves a good first impression and makes you feel very welcome. Loved the practice facility. The carts were clean and nicely equipped with tees, ice, sand for your divots. We got a very reasonable green fee on GN. Course was in great condition all round. Greens maybe a tad slow but may have been due to recent heavy rain. Pace of play was great. We teed off at 1:40pm and were done by 5:10pm. My wife and I had lots of fun and will play again soon.

Nice course with friendly staff. Fairways & Greens in great shape!

It rained on Wednesday, but that didn’t stop me from playing at one of the best courses in Phoenix. The fairways are in perfect shape, I don’t think I saw one spot under repair. There were several doglegs and fairways with creek beds intersecting them, forcing us short ball hitters to lay up. You want to avoid the out of bounds, as it is desert, with desert plants. The greens had some undulation, but very puttable. There is just enough sand traps around the greens, and they are filled with fluffy sand, not the rocks and pebbles you have at other courses.

The driving range is included with your green fee, and the carts had GPS. The only down side, other than the weather, was CART PATH ONLY, and we did not finish the last hole, as the fairway had too much water on it. I’m looking forward to playing the Palmer course at Wildfire again, only this time, under a sunny sky.

Course is in nice shape as it grows in. Greens really shaggy bumpy and slow but that is what you would expect.

Staff are excellent. They were very polite and friendly. Answered all our inquiries. One of our players was on the driving range and his club head on his 7 iron FELL OFF in his back swing. A gentleman from the club came over, advised that he could fix the club and it would be ready for him on the back nine. On the 6th hole, the gentleman came over and had the club repaired and charged a reasonable price. When reviewing the website there was no indication that the carts were cart path only. This increased the time to play the course. At a certain time the cart's GPS indicated that we catch up to the group in front of us. There was no group in front of us the whole time we played. A twosome came up on from behind on the 15th or 16th hole.??? The greens were slow and I guess it was from over seeding however, we were not told. The price is high but probably average for the area and time of the year and is a Marriott course.
