Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club at Desert Ridge
About
The Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course designed by Arnold Palmer and built in 1997. The par-72 golf course measures 7,145 yards from the tournament tees. "I enjoy designing golf courses that celebrate the sheer fun of golf," Palmer said about this course, "and Wildfire is exactly that."
The Bermuda grass Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club is one of two championship courses at the club. It features a GPS option that offers golfers detailed mapping of the Faldo and Palmer courses, precise yardages for tee shots and approach shots to the greens, and the chance to order breakfast and lunch from the golf cart. Additional features include communication with the golf shop, a CBS Sportsline ticker with all scores 24 hours a day, and the leader board for tournaments. Its sibling, the Faldo golf course, also features the system.

Fun track
Was nice course to play! Some areas transitioning but greens were in great shape. Will come back and play again!
One of my favorite facilities
Both courses at wildfire are excellent. The Palmer has more desert washes in play, while the Faldo has more bunkers. They are a bit pricey in the winter, so I only play when the rates come down
Palmer course conditions were excellent, and as always the staff was fantastic. I played with a couple that are members and the lady made a hole in one. That was exciting! We finished in just under 4hours snd had a very enjoyable day. I just wish it was closer to my place in Tempe and a little cheaper. Still an awesome place to play. It’s always busy, but the staff is always great. Go okay if you can get a rate that is acceptable to you.
Awesome Round
Great course, staff and views. Can’t wait to go back!
I have been wanting to play courses like this for a long time, I've just not been able to afford to do so.
Truly enjoyed my round. Some challenging holes as well as some that "made you feel good about your abilities"
The staff was very friendly and let me get out a little earlier than my tee time and I breezed through the first 15 holes before I saw the twosome in front of me.
I'd love to have the opportunity to play here and the Faldo course again
Palmer Course
I played from the blacks and it is a pretty tough course. A couple times driving off the blacks I only ended up about 30 to 40 yards in the fairway which is humbling, mind you those were 250+ yard drives. The greens are tricky but fun. For this course just being recently aerated it was still in pretty decent shape it was a pleasure to play there specially for the money
Great staffs
Great course, great staffs in Arizona
Our group 30 people played the Arnold Palmer course today.
Club Manager and staff members are excellent. It was great choice and we enjoyed playing here.
Pretty nice course
Easy to find, sort of confusing check in with somewhat hard to find pro shop, needs better signage, cart boys weren't really helpful since we were there for the first time and needed a little better direction, got put behind a group of novices in a best ball tourney and they were slow, but as luck would have it the best player assistant we have ever seen, Dave, moved us to the back nine and we basically had the course to ourselves and then played until we wanted to stop, good carts with customer friendly GPS, water buckets for our towels, water every other hole to drink, ice chest on the cart, tees nice , fairways the best we've seen, pretty nice layout that looks tighter than it plays, greens that putt smooth and pretty fast, bunkers had some sand, got a good rate on GolfNow, cuz couldn't afford regular rates , will hope to return in the off season again, one of the nicest courses that we have played
Wore pink shirt in honour of my Mom & Arnie
Great practise area to get your round started. Course was in excellent shape, surprising not many pitch marks so must players must care. Played the White / Blue combo at around 6300 yards, must have been the right tees as a 11 handicap who averages 225 off the tee, shot a 79. Always enjoy a course that makes you think about each shot, used most of my clubs in the bag.
Well maintained course
Our group started as a twosome, the course let us start on the back nine, so we flew playing the back nine in about an hour. I appreciate that, especially in the AZ heat. On the front we caught up with the foursomes. The course is well maintained, the greens roll true and traps are gravel free. The fairways are good, there are a few burned out spots which is typical in Az this time of year.
Palmer course at Wildfire
First time playing this course and was greatly impressed by the conditions from tee to green. Fairways were lush and green probably the best I have seen this year in the valley. Greens were smooth and fairly fast but unfortunately would not hold an approach shot. Sand was fair but still not a little gravel mix. Layout itself has many excellent holes and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Would recommend but only if one can get a deal since most of the year this course is a little overpriced.
Palmer at Wildfire
Always one of the best complexes in the Valley. Great layout. Great condition. Very good practice facilities as well. Especially great value this time of the year. Always a very enjoyable golf experience at Wildfire. Both courses are fun to play. Never have a preference for one course over the other - Palmer vs Faldo
Palmer course.
Palmer Is one of my favorite course designers and he didn't disappoint. Course was in real good shape. Staff was out on the course working to keep the pace of play up. Couple of groups that were slow were suddenly gone after the front nine.
Really great place
Played the course on a Sunday morning. The course was packed but it moved along relatively well. Rangers were on top of everything and very friendly. Front desk staff even assisted us in evaluating other courses in the area. Greens were A+. Fairways ... never had to touch the ball.
We would go back in a heart beat.
