San Tan Highlands (formerly known as The Golf Club at Johnson Ranch) boasts a championship course with a front nine that winds through the Sonoran desert and a back nine that finishes at the base of the bordering San Tan Mountains. Naturally, the first half of the golf course is relatively flat and the latter half has a hilly terrain. In contrast to its categorization as a desert course, this course has grass from the tees to the greens but the cactus-filled landscape definitely implies desert. The greens are quite large and undulating and the fairways are fairly open with generous landing areas. Strategically placed sand bunkers and water hazards come into play throughout the San Tan Highlands.

Value was good however who was playing in front of us had a phone gun and was spraying it all over the course and it was easy to get confused by losing your golf ball amongst the phone that was very disappointing

Same thing, Different Day
Staff at club drop was young and rude. Just pointed to a cart and said I could load my clubs there. Day on his butt and never moved.
Saw ONE Marshall all day. We waited all day from first tree to 18th green. I the beginning, they tried to put a father and his 8 year old son in our group of three to make it a 5-some. It was the kid's first time ever golfing!
Don't know the reason, but 4-1/2 to 5 hour rounds are the norm. Love the course. Management sucks pond water.
