The Pine Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club offers mature pines, in an appropriate contrast to its sibling golf course, the Pine Course, and is also narrower than the other golf course. What they have in common include the facts that Desmond Muirhead designed both of them and they both date back to 1972; recent renovations have also given both golf courses new greens, sand traps and bridges.

The Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club measures 7,187 yards, kicking off on a 398-yard par 4 that requires tee shot toward the fairway's center, leaving golfers a mid- to short-iron from the green, which slopes narrowly. Things get long by the fourth hole, one of four par-5 holes that come in at over 500 yards; this one, for example, makes you place your drive well toward right-center if you want to shoot for it in two. Close out the round of golf on the 18th hole, another long one, at 517 yards from the blue tees, and a tight hole to drive that will, thankfully, provide your last test for the day.

TRASH

This course is terrible. This course is scuuuum between my toes. I don’t know what person owns this place, but they haven’t put a dime into it since 1967. There was enough crab grass on the tee box to make a caesar salad. Dirt in the fairways. The paths hat potholes and were uneven. I wouldn’t pay $10 to play here again. Goose poo everywhere too. Its like Continental, but ridiculously overpriced.

TRASH!

I want my moneyback.

Good pace

Went out early as a 3some on a cold morning, thus the quick pace. Course in nice shape, suitable for all levels of golfers. lunch was very good.

Great Course in Scottsdale

I've been vacationing/golfing in Scottsdale for years and have noticed that the cost has increased significantly over the past few years. Hard to find a decent track for under $100. This is a fine course and although the fairways and bunkers were a bit soaked from the prior days rain, we still had a very enjoyable round. I'd both play this course again and recommend this to anyone looking for a course in the Scottsdale area.

Needs some TLC

Pretty straightforward layout. A couple funky holes. Need to update the GPS. Very basic. Range balls were included, but only got about 20 balls. If you want more, need to buy them. Tee boxes in good shape. Fairways also. Bare patches, hard pan and clumpy chunks of grass in the “rough”. Greens were in good shape but some were a little too tricked out. Fast but held good shots. Groundskeeper must have been hungover. Multiple pin locations on crowns, edges of slopes. Apparently built in 1979….clubhouse looks like it. Probably won’t return.

Great course

Fun challenging course. The Island green number one handicap hole requires strategy and skill which unfortunately I didn’t employ. Greens are fast but fair. Would definitely come back again.

1st round of the year.

Staff was great. Nice day, but the night before there was a big rainstorm, so it was cart path only. Greens were still pretty quick and we were lucky enough to play with all the rain. So all in all with all things considered had a lot of fun.

Not great

The pictures are deceiving. The course is eh at best. There are much nicer courses in the area for the same price. The quality of golfers isn’t great so after nearly a 3 hour front nine I packed up and headed to my hotel.
