Coyote Lakes Golf Club
About
Located in the west valley, the golf course at Coyote Lakes Golf Club combines a desert landscape and traditional design with scenic views of the White Tank and Bradshaw Mountains. Although it is modest in length and suitable for all players, the course is still an enjoyable challenge for even advanced golfers. The front nine is more difficult than the back nine with large greens and several contours. The back nine is also challenging though with several notable holes. The fairways are undulating on both and water hazards come into play on several holes. Coyote Lakes Golf Club's signature hole is the 14th, a par-3 hole that requires a shot from an elevated tee to a green that is well protected by two sand bunkers and a lake to the left.

Dissapointed
Coyote Lakes has long been one of my favorite courses in the Phoenix area. Good layout, reasonably priced, good pace of play, friendly staff and in well kept shape. All is still true except the shape of the course. The front 9 more so than the back 9, but obviously management has decided to cut back on grounds keeping and it looks like that includes water. Significant areas of fairways are dead due to lack of attention and water. I used to play here several times a year, but will take it off my of my go to list until they bring it back into shape. Too many other choices to pay $70 for a course that is starting to look like management is squeezing pennies.
Decent course, slow play
Fun course with a few challenging holes. Very slow play, 18 holes took 4 hours 45 minutes, tee boxes in poor condition, greens and fairways were nice.
Tight lies
If you play well off of bare fairways then this is the place for you. Not worth the green fees and I won’t play it again
Great overall experience
We went out as the first group after the ladies who were on the course before sunrise. We zipped around the course in 2.5 hours. The course was in good shape but we were allowed to go out prior to the frost lifting which made the first few greens tough to putt on. That was more our fault than the course.
Not worth the money
It was my first time playing the course. It was a nice layout but not worth the price. I get it may seem cheap for the time of the year and location but I would rather spend a little more and play a course that actually has grass and not spray painted grass and rocks.
The staff was not friendly, course was challenging but fun.
Tee boxes are uneven and beat up. Greens are fast but in good condition.
I really enjoyed this course
From checking in, hitting on the limited (60% balls) range, putting practice and on to the first tee box I had a great day. It may be colored by the fact that the people with whom I was paired up were just as fun and pleasant as one could want. I played up front as the folks I played with had reason to do so. So, I hit all but one fairway and had my first sub 80 round in a very long time. Not to say that the course is easy, it is not. The fairways are severely slopped in places and the greens very very fast. But my mood and the warm wonderful day made all that unimportant.
The course is much improved
The staff from the cart staff and pro shop and restaurant, is outstanding. I highly recommend this course.
Nice layout but poor condition
Played the course a few times! Like the layout, is not that long but you have have to hit areas some long holes and some short. I was really disappointed las time I played there, I don’t believe they over seeded the fairways and used green dye to hide it! The only problem is it might look green but very little grass in fairways. For conditions the price is to high!
Fairways/traps
A bit disappointed in the condition of the fairways, first time to play the course this winter. The fairways were not that nice green fairway that they usually are. The sand traps need some actual sand. It’s always been a fun course, just seems it’s been better
Coyote Lakes
Not that long, but got to stay in fairways. Trouble on both sides, greens rolled true. Nice layout.
Course Condition
Course was in Poor condition. Most tee boxes had no grass. Fairways were hard pan lots of places. Think they forgot to plant winter grass and water
Meh...
Lots of homes to catch an errant shot on the very tight fairways. Not overseeded; fairways are sparse and hard. Greens are decent and there are some interesting holes. Overall a bit over-priced but now I see why they had Sat. AM availability... Won't be back.
Not impressed
For the price of this course it was not even close to the other courses I have played. Fairways hard and brown. Practice facilities terrible.
Good Value
Fairway grass is turning winter brown but is still very playable. Greens are in good condition and roll true and fast enough. Staff here is always friendly and accommodating. I play this course often all year long and it is always a good value and always is in good condition.
I wouldnt call them lakes
but coming from MN you can understand why. But pace of play was excellent and good value course for what you pay. There's plent in PHX area to choose from $ - $$$$ and while this wasnt the best course I played, it wasnt the worst either. Id go back for sure.
