Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills
About
The executive-length Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills (formerly known as Rolling Hills Golf Course) provides an excellent game and it is a very player-friendly course. True to its name, the course is quite hilly causing a few elevation changes and undulating greens. The fairways are lined with pretty trees, adding some challenge and beauty to the course. There are no water hazards but there are a few strategically placed bunkers to worry about as well as some out-of-bounds stakes bordering a few of the holes. Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills consists of ten par 3s and eight par 4s. On the premises there are also practice facilities, a pro shop, and an on-site golf pro.

disappointed
Tee boxes on 1-8 are artificial turf, not good. Way more dirt than green grass. Not sure why would call it "Grass Clippings".
Talk about course improvements
They really have done a great job with this course. The greens are fantastic. Plan on lots of three putts. Playing at night is something to experience. All of the staff is great. My only issue is while using 18birdies it get a bit wonky between day tee times and night. Don't hesitate... Just book it. You won't have any regrets.
Work in progress
They have been working on this course for almost a year and it was not in great shape yesterday. All the tee boxes on the front 9 were closed and the greens were bald in places. It was packed and we were over an hour past our tee time before we were able to start.
I hope it gets better.
Grass clipping @ Rolling Hills
Great redesign of the old rolling hills. 18 par 3’s that are in tremendous condition, possible the toughest/best greens I have ever played on. Pro shop and staff was extremely friendly. Played in 3 hours not having to wait on a single hole. A bit pricy and $91 after tax but was well worth it to play at night under the lights. The range needs a bit of work, you can tell they are reseeding it. Other than that no complaints. Would definitely play again in the future.
Slow Pace of Play
I’ve played this course since it was rolling hills and always enjoyed it. However, the pace of play has been horrible the last couple of times playing. Idk if they need to stretch out tee times or have a Marshall on the course ensuring pace of play is good. It doesn’t make for a fun day of golf when you’re sitting on EVERY tee box for 10-15 mins waiting on the group/groups in front of you. Will wait to go back until I hear pace of play is better.
Changes at Rolling Hills
Hitting off mats on the front nine is not my favorite.
Losing the two par fours on the front nine also not my favorite.
They did make number nine a beautiful hole though.
Was hoping number seven was going to get a revision, nope.
Golf carts need serious attention, seat cushions torn biggest problem.
Always liked the back nine, still do.
Seems to have lost a little bit of the sweet neighborhood feel and more changes on the way.
Night golf is going to be the big draw, particularly in the warmer months, very cool idea.
Love the views and always enjoy playing there.
This was a nice well maintained course.
New layout very disappointing and condition of the course very bad
Good Time
Short and fun track! Mostly par 3’’s with a couple par 4’s You better be on your game because the “rolling hills” can be deceiving!! The greens and tee boxes are in great shape! I think they’ve recently done a redesign and construction. Excited to see what it’s like when it’s done!! The lights are very cool as well! They are bright and make the course very playable even after sunset!! I would play again!
Par 3 Haven
This is the 2nd time that I have played the course. It is a fun course with plenty of challenges with the hills but very little sand. There is still a great deal of the course that lacks turf in the rough. On the 10th hole, my GPS said 260 yards but the hole was closer to 170 yards. All the other distances were good. I wish we were allowed to drive the carts to the range prior to play. That is an annoyance. Can’t wait to get back there!
Stepping up the Game
Rolling Hills/Grass Clippings is going through renovations, but the curse is still very fun to play. Because of this, there are still some kinks to work out. I am excited to see the finished product. Then, these reviews will be more thoughtful and thorough.
