Solid but BYOB
Great course and greens roll great. Beer cart lacking big time. Bring your own beverages
Great Public Course in the middle of the city!
The course personnel were very friendly. The course itself was pretty darn good for weeks of 100 degrees plus. The greens ran true. I highly recommend Dell Urich GC.
Dreaded “Men’s Club”
Course conditions surprisingly good. Fairways still thin and will need time?
A hot morning, so was hoping to move along and finish. Front was ok, back came to screeching halt as the men’s club showed their true colors.
Not only did every putt have to holed (ok) but every putt was “critical”. When I pointed out there was an entire hole open the response was “that’s just city golf”.
The experience could have been more enjoyable had the pace been decent, but the course conditions were better than expected (especially bunkers).
A summer problem is, most early time blocks taken by clubs, at least on city layouts. Maybe go to lower priced resorts?
Great course, great value
The south course reminds me of an old school country club. Great layout, challenging and fun to play, even in the heat of the day!
Dell Urich
Awesome layout. This winter they did not overseed so that the roots would have a chance to gain strength. It therefore was a little sparse in places, understandably. I just love the layout, and next winter I will be interested to play it with winter grasses.
Awful
Both courses are awful. Awful fairways. Awful greens. Just simply awful. Worst course in Tucson by a mile!
Golf
Pace of play was good, 11 minutes per hole. Fairways were terrible, maybe getting ready for summer. Green’s we’re sandy, again maybe getting ready for summer. Still a good place to play golf.
Fairways were in good shape. Greens were the best I have played here in Az this winter. Course was in good shape.
Good layout, not surrounded by houses nor desert, but the praise stops there
Despite nice weather and middle of the day on a Sunday, the course didn't seem very busy. However, I caught and played through one group on 2nd hole, then joined a twosome on 5. We waited on every shot the whole rest of the round, several tee boxes had three groups stacked up. Even considering some grass is still dormant (what grass there actually was), course was in bad condition overall. Definitely overpaid for what I got today.
Course condition
Sand traps had no usable sand, hard pan
Fairways cut way to short, not much grass to hit off, must be getting ready for summer Bermuda
