Fairways were in good shape. Greens were the best I have played here in Az this winter. Course was in good shape.
Good layout, not surrounded by houses nor desert, but the praise stops there
Despite nice weather and middle of the day on a Sunday, the course didn't seem very busy. However, I caught and played through one group on 2nd hole, then joined a twosome on 5. We waited on every shot the whole rest of the round, several tee boxes had three groups stacked up. Even considering some grass is still dormant (what grass there actually was), course was in bad condition overall. Definitely overpaid for what I got today.
Course condition
Sand traps had no usable sand, hard pan
Fairways cut way to short, not much grass to hit off, must be getting ready for summer Bermuda
Painted Fairways
Tees and greens are in good shape but fairways are dry and painted. North doesn’t seem to have this issue
Course conditions bad!
The dell urich course it’s usually my favorite to play! But I went the last two weekends and the fairways are spray painted green! All the fairways are dead grass and overall just terrible conditions.
HORRIBLE COURSE IS PAINTED!!!!
It’s horrible for the amount you are paying the course is painted green THEY SHOULD PUT A NOTICE HEY GOLFERS WE HAVE CUT THE COURSE SUPER SHORT AND ITS DRY SO WE PAINTED IN GREEN SO THEIR CAN BE A FAIR WAY! Horrible
Had a frost delay. They said we wouldn’t have time to finish so just charged us for nine. Very friendly staff. Very little grass in fairways. It might have been colored. Got a lot of roll.
Ripoff
This course was an insult in practically every way possible. The "fairways" were painted green and there was practically no living grass under the paint. I know grass grows in Tucson in January, and every other course I play has nice fairways this time of year. How they can charge full prices for a course they obviously have let go to crap is beyond me. Tucson city golf should be ashamed of itself.
Rock Hard Fairways
This course has not been overseeded. The fairways are rock hard as are the tee boxes. There is almost no grass in the fairways as it consists mostly of hardpan dirt, sparse patches of weed grass, and grass clippings. The fairways are also dyed green.
Had I known the condition of these fairways, I would have spent my money elsewhere for a round of golf.
The greens are in decent shape, especially for a muni course. They hold and were rolling decently fast.
The pace of play was on the slow side, but this course does attract a lot of beginner players.
Painted fairways
Thin lies everywhere. Slowest round so far this fall/winter. Not worth the green fee
What happened to such a nice course
Painted fairways, hardpan to hit from everywhere and inconsistent bunker conditions. Used to love to play this course, but it appears Tucson is cutting corners. It's not good value for money right now.
