Catalina's View
Beautiful afternoon golf with plenty cold water. The views of the Catalina Mountains are an added joy to one of my favorite municipal golf courses around here. Staff is pleasant and the burgers and beer just right.
Course play
The rough was very rough and very long. The grass itself was pretty long in lots of areas even the center of the fairways. You could walk right past your balk and not see it. Also very wet. But hey still had fun getting out there!

Dell Urich is a fun track. When the course us in good shape, it’s really fun to play. The newly revitalized fairways will propel this course into a top tier course in Tucson. If the management group would pay attention to the little details, reseed numerous dirt areas, it would be a joy to play.
Hit it straight
Fairways are nice ..greens are too
But if you hit into the rough it’s just so thick …but course is coming out really nice
Solid course for price
Greens were in good shape, fairway has spots where it can be improved but overall solid course for the price. Good walk and excellent pace of play for morning tee time

1st time playing and will definitely will play again.
Pretty open but stay in the fairway , lots of mounds and valleys to navigate, sand traps were raked and had a decent amount of sand in them. Tee boxes were pretty hard, broke my tee on most every hole. Good complex with two 18 hole courses. Alot of Military aircraft overhead. Nice distraction in my book.
What Grass?
Greens are OK, most tee boxes are OK but the rest of the time you will be hitting off hard, dry dirt even if on the fairway. You could get lucky and be on thin, hard grass. At least not painted dirt like Randolph North. It’s old, few updates over its history. They should strip what they call asphalt off the parking area, fairways prove bare dirt can be smoother than its current condition. City of Tucson and maintenance of anything is at great odds. This is a demonstration of a failed city government.
Frost Delay
We had a hour frost delay that caused havoc. They tried their best to get back on time but the course was full. A five hour round is probably good for this muni on the weekend. The course was in great shape and fun to play and would recommend it. I will be back to play it again.
Good times
Dell Urich is in pretty good shape right now. Fairways are nice and fluffy, but if you’re draw/cut doesn’t work out and you’re off the fairway, it’s pretty dormant. Greens are rolling well, so that’s a plus.
