Pusch Ridge
This nine hole course surrounds a resort hotel. The setting is great and the views are fantastic. Unfortunately, we booked on line and arrived to find that the greens had all been sanded (even the practice putting surface) and that made for difficult putting. We implemented a 3 putt max rule to keep up pace of play.
The fairways were in desperate need of water or seed. They had been aerated sometime in the last week or two and there were huge areas of only soil. A sign in the pro shop advised that all bunkers should be played as ground under repair. That was an understatement and should raised a warning flat. The bunkers were all filled with weeds and many were eroded from rains. In general the entire course suffered from "deferred maintenance". I truly hope they get this back into good playing condition because it is a fine layout. It just needs some care.
Great place to play beautiful Push Ridge !
The course is always a quick place to get on and play in less than 2 hours for 9 holes most of the time it's less than that. The setting is beautiful ! The price for all it offers is reasonable.
Pusch Ridge good 9 holes
The course was in average condition, The sand traps require a lot of attention, Too many burned spots on the fairways, grass cut too close. Fast fairways with good after roll on tee shots and approach shots. Pace was fast, almost too fast, 9 holes in 50 minutes. Nice layout with some unique holes.
Great starter course!
Excellent course to get your swing back, teach a friend or just get out and see the mountains.
Dont be fooled.
The course was tougher than I anticipated. But all and all it was nice. Very nice views and nice staff. I already booked my next tee time.
Great except
All bunkers out of comission. Greens a little slow need to be .cut.
a challeging 9 holes
I was very pleased wih the layout and condition of the course.
The sandtraps are GUR because of the floods/insurance claim etc. BUT don't be put off as it really is quite a challenge . nice layout and greens were very good to putt on. Cost was great and replay rate is very good .
Do yourself a favour and go try your skills against it you will find it a challenge.
I played well for a 13 hdcp shot a 41 and a 43.
Can't Wait to Play Again
Excellent value through GolfNow. Beautiful course with elevated and descending greens. The bunkers are unplayable after a recent flood, but as soon as the insurance claim is settled, they will be fixed. Really is a best kept secret of the best 9 hole course around Tucson. There are even a couple of Par 5's that you can use your driver off the tee. I can't wait to play this course again.
Nice Layout, But Not Well Maintained
I've been in Tucson for 3 yrs and have heard Pusch Ridge mentioned from time to time. The comments were neither disparaging, nor complementary. It just existed as a place to play if you have a chance. Well, I had a chance in Feb, after a dentist appt in the area. What I found was a neat little 9-holer in need of some TLC. The cashier advised me that ALL of the bunkers were considered 'ground under repair' and a free drop was authorized. Additionally, all of the turf, fairway and rough alike, seemed a bit longer than they intended. The design of the course seemed interesting and could be fun, if kept tidy, but my overall impression was that I would not return if I were in the area again...and I certainly would not make a trip there just to play this course. At best, I'd ask some buddies if they've been there recently and inquire about the conditions. The short-ish holes, built on mostly sloping terrain, could be fun but needs to be tidied up. I expect a small piece of property like this one to be easier to maintain than a full 18-hole course...perhaps not.
Better Upkeep needed
Nice, challenging course with beautiful views. But the bunkers are in shambles, supposedly while they settle a law suite. But, even the overall condition of the course is like that of a municipal course.
Good in some ways but needs work
Good: Beautiful surroundings, reasonably challenging for a 9-hole.
Bad: greens slow and not smooth, traps full of weeds and not maintained.
Ok for the money
Overall the quality of the grass was very good greens were well keep up and course made for good game play. The downfalls include unplayable sand traps because of no maintenance and no food of any kind at the clubhouse which was a little surprising and to no surprise of course no drink cart. Worth the money but dont expect too much and come prepared with own food and drink.
Course needs some work
This is a fun 9 hole course. However, ownership is in transition and recent storms destroyed the sand traps. Currently, sand traps are absolutely unplayable. I was told things should be better in about 3 months. That said, fairways are fine. Greens were slow and sandy when I played, but that could change in a few weeks. However, if you don't pay that much and just want a quick outing, the course is fun. Just take your ball out of the traps and have fun.
fun course-greens not good
challenging for me as a 30 handicap. Husband 20 handicap frustrated by greens. pretty cousre and good value for Super Special price.
Thanks
Fun Layout
Course had a good mix of length & challenges. Tee box and fairways in good shape. Sand traps need a lot of work, after record rainfall destroyed them. Hole locations were unfair and all on slopes. But the value was amazing as was the mountain views. Would play again.
"Rough in the Diamond"
This little gem is being sadly neglected as the course is transitioning in ownership. The bunkers are in horrible shape with huge rocks (boulders) showing and the bermuda spreading quickly. This course could be so much, occupying a unique niche in the market, but until things shape up I won't be back.
Greens not cut, sand traps had NO sand
Played this course over 50 times and it is in the worst condition ever.
Stay Away
I played this course about a year ago and it was in good shape. The bunkers and greens were in terrible condition. This was by far the worse course that I have ever played. I have been an active golfer for nearly 20 years.
