Situated between the Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Forty Niner Country Club runs alongside a wooded riverbed. The golf course features fairways lined with mesquites, giant cottonwoods, eucalyptus trees, and weeping willows. Desert shrubbery also lines the fairways. The course has a traditional layout that sprawls across gently rolling terrain. It's a nice walkable golf course but it's not easy. Rather than distance, this course requires accurate shot placement and careful strategy in order to maneuver the tricky doglegs and subtly elevated greens. The most difficult hole on the course comes early on. The par-4 fifth is an only seemingly narrow hole but the double-tiered green has a dramatic slope right in the center. Forty Niner Country Club finishes with a par 3 that requires a carry over water. If played smartly, it offers a great birdie opportunity.

Practice on your sidewalk.
The hardest, fastest greens I have ever experienced and I play Sun City golf regularly. The greens had zero holding ability and zero grain. We had several good shots that hit the green and bounced 8-10 feet in the air before launching over the back of the greens. The fairways were decent and you could take a divot. The staff was super nice and helpful. The layout was great. I would play here again with improved green conditions.

Relaxing and fun day of golf
Challenging but not too much so to be frustrating and stressful. Goldilocks…just right!
Hard ground
Hard fairways. Fast greens. Easy to roll off fairway.
Nice folks. Well organized.
Rainy days
Rain on number 8 and 9 and we had to stop. No rain check from golf now or the club house. Course is ok. Condition is ok. Would have been worth the. $46 hot deal if we played all 18.
Slow play noranger
Unfortunately the foursome in front did not play ready golf. Atleast one full hole behind. NO RANGER. SLOW play spoiled the entire round.
Nice course, helpful staff
This course is fairly close to the house we are renting for a month -- so we feel fortunate that its pretty nice. Well maintained, nice staff.
