About
Situated between the Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Forty Niner Country Club runs alongside a wooded riverbed. The golf course features fairways lined with mesquites, giant cottonwoods, eucalyptus trees, and weeping willows. Desert shrubbery also lines the fairways. The course has a traditional layout that sprawls across gently rolling terrain. It's a nice walkable golf course but it's not easy. Rather than distance, this course requires accurate shot placement and careful strategy in order to maneuver the tricky doglegs and subtly elevated greens. The most difficult hole on the course comes early on. The par-4 fifth is an only seemingly narrow hole but the double-tiered green has a dramatic slope right in the center. Forty Niner Country Club finishes with a par 3 that requires a carry over water. If played smartly, it offers a great birdie opportunity.

Nice course
We finished the 9th hole just as it began to rain. Waited in the cart barn for about 20 minutes, rain continued. Went into the pro shop, he checked the radar weather, looked as if the rain had set in for the day. Our question was why weren’t we offered a rain check for nine holes?
Fun track
We enjoyed the course. It was a bit cool out, pace was a bit slow.
Please fix this course
Greens way to firm pretty close to cement. Rocks in bunkers. Could be a great course with some TLC, nothing has changed there in 3 years
Slow play due to no ranger making sure an appropriate pace of play is maintained.
Fun track
Fun golf course. You meet the neatest people golfing. It’s about 65 minutes away from where we are staying. I bit far , but fun.
Excellent value, staff, amenities
We're snow birds. These people at 49er are so welcoming we feel like honored members. Jack Nicholas played here with the tour buddies. We may have to relocate to the east side..Love the 49er.
