Forty-Niner Country Club
About
Situated between the Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Forty Niner Country Club runs alongside a wooded riverbed. The golf course features fairways lined with mesquites, giant cottonwoods, eucalyptus trees, and weeping willows. Desert shrubbery also lines the fairways. The course has a traditional layout that sprawls across gently rolling terrain. It's a nice walkable golf course but it's not easy. Rather than distance, this course requires accurate shot placement and careful strategy in order to maneuver the tricky doglegs and subtly elevated greens. The most difficult hole on the course comes early on. The par-4 fifth is an only seemingly narrow hole but the double-tiered green has a dramatic slope right in the center. Forty Niner Country Club finishes with a par 3 that requires a carry over water. If played smartly, it offers a great birdie opportunity.

Great course
We drive all the way from Casa Grande to play this course. It’s one of our favorites
GreatExperience
Great money value and experience. Staff was friendly and we went when the course wasn’t packed. Great for anyone who wants to learn how to play or go for their first round of 18. Restaurant was perfect for post-round lunch and brew
Course play
Had a good time playing on this course. The greens were a little dull but other than that no complaints. Great staff, great course and a good time of golf.
It’s worth the drive
We live an hour away but have heard so much good about this course we had to try it., It being summer time in Az the greens were a little rough but was good practice. We’ll definitely be back again.
Bare ground
Greens plugged and dressed made it difficult to hole much. Bare areas, tees especially. Rains will help, but time also needed to fill things in.
Good value, nice post round, friendly staff.
Summer golf in an early pre- monsoon Tucson.
Pretty decent
Cool course it was just in slightly rough shape when I played it was pretty dry but I just think it was them putting in new grass so I wasn’t bothered too much by it and the price was right for the conditions so overall I enjoyed it. The greens were a little rough especially on hole 10 it was basically just sand but other than that not too bad.
Fun for price
Good course, greens were punched but for the price still a fun and good course
Challenging course
We enjoyed this course very much. We live in Casa Grande but it was worth the drive.
In transition
The course is in transition from winter rye to Bermuda. It was playable but a lot of brown and bare spots on the fairways.
