About
Situated between the Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Forty Niner Country Club runs alongside a wooded riverbed. The golf course features fairways lined with mesquites, giant cottonwoods, eucalyptus trees, and weeping willows. Desert shrubbery also lines the fairways. The course has a traditional layout that sprawls across gently rolling terrain. It's a nice walkable golf course but it's not easy. Rather than distance, this course requires accurate shot placement and careful strategy in order to maneuver the tricky doglegs and subtly elevated greens. The most difficult hole on the course comes early on. The par-4 fifth is an only seemingly narrow hole but the double-tiered green has a dramatic slope right in the center. Forty Niner Country Club finishes with a par 3 that requires a carry over water. If played smartly, it offers a great birdie opportunity.

You get what you pay for
We had a fun afternoon but tee boxes and fairways were in bad condition.
Course
2 stars, course needs a lot of water, back 9 is better
Beautiful Course
Loved the scenery and the challenging holes. We will be back!!
Disappointed
The course was in very poor shape. The fairways were mostly dry, hard dirt. The greens were so dry, so fast. The combination of golfers allowed to walk the course mixed with golfers in carts made for a painfully slow round.
Always a good time
We have played this course every time my brother visits. We enjoy it much for its long fairways, doglegs to those par threes on 10 and 18. Going back tomorrow before he leaves early next week.
Misleading
Course in terrible condition was misled. Fairways,greens and bunkers were terrible. This course is in need of lots of money to make it better. If your expectations are low and your handicap is high you may be ok. Spend your money on something better and create a good memory.
Beautiful Course - Perfect for a novice
I've played this course a few times and every time I play, I like it more and more. It's challenging enough for a new golfer like myself to not get overwhelmed or frustrated.
The restrooms on the course are extremely clean.
Better than city courses but not by much.
Fairways are bad patches if grass here and there. It's a nice course but could be a lot better with better green keeping. Also greens are hard as a rock., it's a pretty course and remind me of Tubac, AZ. Pace of play is bad and need more staff to move along the groups.
Mediocre course
Course was fine but underwhelming. Greens were fast. Fairways and rough thin or burned out in many places. Layout was mediocre. I enjoyed the day but won’t play again. Bar after was good.
