About
Situated between the Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Forty Niner Country Club runs alongside a wooded riverbed. The golf course features fairways lined with mesquites, giant cottonwoods, eucalyptus trees, and weeping willows. Desert shrubbery also lines the fairways. The course has a traditional layout that sprawls across gently rolling terrain. It's a nice walkable golf course but it's not easy. Rather than distance, this course requires accurate shot placement and careful strategy in order to maneuver the tricky doglegs and subtly elevated greens. The most difficult hole on the course comes early on. The par-4 fifth is an only seemingly narrow hole but the double-tiered green has a dramatic slope right in the center. Forty Niner Country Club finishes with a par 3 that requires a carry over water. If played smartly, it offers a great birdie opportunity.

It’s priced appropriately.
Greens were consistently fast. Fairways were inconsistently over seeded. Fallen leaves resulted in lost balls in the fairway.
Overall though my opinion/experience is what I expected given the very affordable price. Great food in the restaurant!!
Excellent value , great golf
The course was basically empty, being New Years Eve? Weather was gorgeous until we hit the 15th and the rain came. Had a great time. Staff was very friendly and most importantly, I shot well.

Couldn't beat the price at $19 (Hot Deal)! Great staff too!
Extremely Slow
I played this course quite extensively over the last few years. This year, the course is in rough shape, from tee boxes to greens.
But the worse aspect is the slowness of play. No Marshals on the course to keep play moving. We had completed 2 holes and when we got to 3 there were FOUR foursome waiting to tee off.
It didn’t get any better as we only finished 15 holes before darkness set in at 5:25 PM. We teed off at 12:45
Very Mediocre at best…
We live here and play all over Tucson , Phoenix and between. This course isn’t in the Top 50 I have played here. U can pay the same price at El Con and it’s far better. a 4 star??? That’s laughable

Love the course! Winter here in Tucson, will play the course often.
Great value
I've been going here once or twice a week since September and I always have felt welcomed. I started at the end of our wettest year on record.The course was excellent then and it still is today. Staff is great too.
We love forty niner
We keep going back when in Tucson. We really like course layout. The staff is friendly, courteous, welcoming. This trip we didn’t eat, but have in the past and food was good. It’s a great tract.

What a gem. Greens are in great shape. One of the best course in Tucson.
Confusion atthe start.
Like i said, no starter and thecarts were lining up when they felt like it. Once a starter showed up it was ok. Very slow at first, but then picked up as we went.
