About
Situated between the Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Forty Niner Country Club runs alongside a wooded riverbed. The golf course features fairways lined with mesquites, giant cottonwoods, eucalyptus trees, and weeping willows. Desert shrubbery also lines the fairways. The course has a traditional layout that sprawls across gently rolling terrain. It's a nice walkable golf course but it's not easy. Rather than distance, this course requires accurate shot placement and careful strategy in order to maneuver the tricky doglegs and subtly elevated greens. The most difficult hole on the course comes early on. The par-4 fifth is an only seemingly narrow hole but the double-tiered green has a dramatic slope right in the center. Forty Niner Country Club finishes with a par 3 that requires a carry over water. If played smartly, it offers a great birdie opportunity.

Forty Niner g.c.
Fairways and greens are in great shape.
Some of the tee boxes could use some grass seed.
Not a top premier course but it's a good course.
Palo Verde, Pine & Oak trees line the course.
Always one of my favorites to play.
Probably the best kept secret in Tucson.
Fast then SLOW.
The course was in decent shape.We thought that we would encounter over-seeding but that was not the case.
Greens were in good shape. Tees and greens were a bit hard.
Teed off at 11:20 and the first 9 went quickly however the back 9 was VERY slow. We had to leave after 15 because the pace had slowed to a crawl. No rangers to speed things up so we just gave up.
It was fairly windy course was cart paths only as overseeding taking hold. The greens were inconsistent.
Very good value.

Everything was great. The condition of the course is quite astonishing. I would come back later this year with friends for sure

Course was in good condition due to recent over seeding. A little muddy in spots and very soft in the fairways. Greens were decent. 17th hole was extremely wet on the approach. Other than that there were no issues. Clubhouse/pro shop staff were courteous and efficient. Great value for the money. Highly recommend this course especially for us older types as the elevation changes were minimal.
Very dated, boring layout and poor conditions
I know they just came out of overseed but the bad weed and grass overgrowth has been allowed for years! This course is struggling. It’s ok for a course that could charge $15 but unfortunately I paid $35. I wish them luck!! Very nice staff and very good restaurant!!!!
Bad Shape
Course is rough. Terrible compared to how it was back when I first played it. Paid $15 on a hot deal & still feel like that was too much. You will lose balls in some fairways & rough because of how long it is.
