About
Situated between the Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Forty Niner Country Club runs alongside a wooded riverbed. The golf course features fairways lined with mesquites, giant cottonwoods, eucalyptus trees, and weeping willows. Desert shrubbery also lines the fairways. The course has a traditional layout that sprawls across gently rolling terrain. It's a nice walkable golf course but it's not easy. Rather than distance, this course requires accurate shot placement and careful strategy in order to maneuver the tricky doglegs and subtly elevated greens. The most difficult hole on the course comes early on. The par-4 fifth is an only seemingly narrow hole but the double-tiered green has a dramatic slope right in the center. Forty Niner Country Club finishes with a par 3 that requires a carry over water. If played smartly, it offers a great birdie opportunity.

Love it
Love this coarse. It’s close to home and staff goes above and beyond to make sure you’re satisfied.
Would have rated higher but the bar & grill was closed for a function later in the day.
Summer golf
First off, it was hot! Second, it's the price to pay to play golf in the summer in the desert. Course was in good condition; they were watering on certain holes to keep the grass alive but nothing that interfere with the game.
Always love playing here, near the mountains. lots of mature trees. There are homes that surround the course, but they don't seem to come into play very often. Maybe I'm getting better?
Would recommend play a round or two here.
Lots of maintenance underway
Aerating of the greens in progress, sprinklers going everywhere, groundskeepers buzzing around doing their thing. Was a busy round with all that going on, but still a great course to play at. Overall decent day on the links.
Under repair
The fairways and tee boxes were under repair. A lot dead grass. Wish they would’ve put that on the website when booking. I have played there before and it’s always been a great course

The course was in pretty good shape. They were doing some repairs to areas throughout the course, but overall was nice. Love the large old trees and homes along the course. That’s why I keep going back.
