Crooked Tree Golf Course in Tucson has a traditional layout in a secluded, peaceful location with no homes around the course for miles. The golf course features player-friendly, generous fairways and small greens that are surrounded by ample chipping areas. Located in the Sonoran Desert, there are ironwoods, mesquites, and saguaros situated throughout, providing a beautiful landscape and a relaxing atmosphere. It is no wonder that Crooked Tree Golf Course is one of the most popular public golf courses in Arizona.

What Happened to the Bunkers?
Apparently people were complaining about the quality of the bunkers, but rather than fix them management decided to fill them in with grass! Which obviously changes the entire character of the course and makes it much less challenging. It isn't reflected on the score card yet, but the slope and rating will have to be adjusted way down. This will make new players and high handicappers happy, but for those seeking a challenge there are better (and cheaper) tracks available in the area.

pleasantly surprised
while this was not a very difficult course, there are some very enjoyable holes, such as 9, over a pond. terrific. excellent shape for summer in arizona. a terrific course for an average player
not a fan of grass bunkers, but im guessing a cost factor in terms of maintenance.

Very nice course and bang for your buck
Liked the course and the price, but the greens were very slow and the pace of play was very slow.

Grass “sand traps!”
I like grass sand traps as that is not a good part of my game. The fact that there is no actual dining are is a big bummer. And no cart service on a 100+ day was tough.

Always Enjoy This Course
We have played this course a lot over the years and like the layout, not terribly difficult but also not a breeze. I like the idea of grass bunkers from an upkeep viewpoint and the practice area has improved with the additions of lights on the range. As Crooked Tree is close, we will continue to play there on a regular basis.
