Crooked Tree Golf Course in Tucson has a traditional layout in a secluded, peaceful location with no homes around the course for miles. The golf course features player-friendly, generous fairways and small greens that are surrounded by ample chipping areas. Located in the Sonoran Desert, there are ironwoods, mesquites, and saguaros situated throughout, providing a beautiful landscape and a relaxing atmosphere. It is no wonder that Crooked Tree Golf Course is one of the most popular public golf courses in Arizona.

Crooked Tree g.c.
Not a fan of turning sand traps into grass bunkers. Course would play so much better with sand traps.
Other than that, course is in good shape and fun to play. Fast greens and nice fairways. Mountain views don't hurt either.

Nice Course
Crooked Tree was a wide open course with minimal dangers. The fairways were in very good condition. Greens were smooth, reasonable speed for the average golfer and no bare spots on any holes. Roughs were short dormant grass with few bare spots for winter play. Overall it was a very playable course for most golfers and in good condition. Enjoyed the round.

Overall good but slow play
We enjoyed the course and overall it was very acceptable. The rate of play on the back nine was, very slow. This left us with a slightly negative reaction.

Nice course
Needs a Marshall to get those playing for $$$ to play faster or let others play through! 4 hours and 45 minutes is way too long on any course.

Average Course
Nothing wrong with Crooked Tree; just nothing special.. Course in good winter condition, pace of play excellent

Slow
No marshall...group we followed were 2 holes behind...they said they were playing for money. Cart paths are terrible. Greens fairways and tees were in great shape. Letting grass take over bunkers but not filling in the steep sides.

Great value and pace of play!
Great pace of play, fairways are good, rough was already dead after winter seeding!? Course isn't bad for it's price, nice chipping/putting practice area. No beer cart girl and many signs saying no outside beer? Odd problem there!

No Sand Traps???
The course no longer has sand traps. Not sure I will be going back to this course unless they put back the sand traps. Odd but it just feels wrong playing on a golf course with no sand traps.

A Public Course Worth Playing
From 2016 thru 2020 we played Crooked Tree regularly during our winter stays in Tucson. Upon returning this year, we were disappointed to see green fees have risen unreasonably - considering they planted grass in all the sand bunkers and eliminated twilight rates. We were told in the pro shop that they can command high rates because people are willing to pay that much. Unfortunate. We will play it again since we love the course, but not nearly as often.
