The River Club

I’m new to the area. Found this course on line and decided to try it. I made a good choice. In good condition, nicely laid out and reasonably priced. I certainly will come back!

Had a great experience at the The River Club, course was in great condition and the course itself is beautiful. The layout is challenging and fun. 17th Green is currently being working on so that would be the only downside. Look forward to coming back.

Although the greens are slow and furry, if you hit good putts, they roll true. None of my missed putts were the fault of the greens. Better furry and green than baked out and dead. Yes there are some very bad spots; in that case play it like GUR. And yes, 17th is temporary.

You can say similar for Blue tee boxes and fairways. A little thick, but plenty of grass, at least.

If you can stand the heat, the $20 Hot Deal is a great value.

GPS on carts is nice.

Greens were punched and sandy, the were unplayable. It also started raining. They did not tell us before we went out or set up a tee time that they were punched. We went in side and ask for our money back and they gave us a rain check minus the 2 holes we played which was rediulous. The guy at the counter was rude and immature.

The greens were covered in sand making it almost impossible to put on some holes. Layout of course is very fun but the greens needed some work.

Being that my tee time is not unitl 2:36pm today I can't say......I will let you know after my round...:)))))

It was rainy. Staff couldn’t have been nicer, telling us to stick around, or go whenever we liked, or get a rain check. They sai we could play 3-4 holes and if too wet, come in and get a rain check. Course, although wet, was in very good shape. I’ll surely go again.

Dear management,

You have a lot of competition around here so here are some things for your consideration.

1). Staff friendliness - a few smiles wouldn’t hurt. Secondly, when I asked why we have to change carts from the driving range to the course carts, the starter got a little defensive and seemed annoyed by my asking.

2) While I’m on it, don’t make your guests change carts. It’s less than convenient and yours is the ONLY course that I need to do that on. Find a better system.

3) I came there expecting to be able to get a breakfast sandwich. Grill was closed this morning. Not even a granola bar was for sale. Then, on the turn, your shack was closed on the 10th as well. No beer cart. No food or drinks available during the entire round. Can you say lost profits? (And poor customer service)(On Father’s Day no less)

4). Most holes are in good shape. Your 17th green however needs a complete overhaul. Many tee boxes could use a little love as well.

Course layout is a nice challenge. And I’d like to come back because it is close and reasonably priced. However, when I’m paying for something, I’d like to feel appreciated, welcomed and have access to food and drink when I’m spending 5 hours of my life at a golf course.

I have played this course many times with course conditions being as one would expect from the tickled Florida weather. The true gem of this course is its staff. This has been a tough year during COVID for all courses and the River Club has earned a lot of golfers business through impeccable service that most high end country clubs in the area can learn from. From the moment you drive up to the bag drop and are welcomed by Ross and Reed to entering the Pro shop with Joe behind the counter accommodating everyone with a warm personality to Barbara at the half-way house with her great bratwursts and bubbly personality, I only wish the club would keep it open after June.

I can choose to play many courses in the area but the River Club has earned my “ go to” when I want to bring guests for a very good time. Well done River Club and staff.

Great course to play with a great layout, a couple greens are a little shaggy but other than that very nice course. Awful customer service but when you know that going in you can block it out and just enjoy your round.

Kinda in rough shape from the greens, green comp-lexes/surrounds, and some tees. Fairways not too bad. A lot of the rough is a little too rough.

The layout/design is good, though a little narrow in a lot places and course knowledge is helpful to avoid blind shot mis-haps and running through fairways etc.

I suggest you play lift clean and place onto good lies throughout the course, and just move your ball on the green wherever you need to to avoid damage and you can have a nice round. The greens are far from good, but today none of my missed putts were due to the greens; anytime I hit a good putt, it rolled true enough and went in.

The staff is very nice. They have a cool sunken bar.

My in-cart GPS wasn't responding properly to my touch location; I forgot to mention that to staff after the round.

If you can deal with the weather, the afternoon rates are a reasonable value. Mid-week, mid-afternoon pace was excellent.

Overbooked and a scramble on the same morning.... Show up at scheduled time waiting for first tee and "members" go right in front of us. After about 15 minutes of waiting, we were told to start on hole 5. Moved along well until getting behind players in the scramble. After finishing 18, we were told we can't play 1 through 4 and to ask for a raincheck. Finally, couldn't issue a raincheck because I booked through Golfnow. The lack of communication regarding everything is unexcusable.
