About
Mike Dasher's Highlands Reserve (opened 1998) is suggestive and irresistible. The course sits on the edge of a long sand shelf called the Green Swamp Ridge near the town of Davenport, spanning 120 feet from top to bottom. Dasher's holes fairly dance around it, two-stepping from a high point at the first green all the way to the low basin of the 13th fairway.
You will find pine tree-lined fairways reminiscent of the Carolinas, open spacious fairways likened to the great Scottish courses, and a bit of old Florida with citrus trees along the countryside.

Nice round on a hot day
Course condition is good and they are continuing to maintain and improve. Greens are in good shape but take some getting used to. Still quite hard and bristly, and they played slow but true.
Hill top FL views?!
Nice open course, lots of greenery and very cool hill top views with a couple well placed palm trees that made me feel I was back in HI .... greens were very nice and clean, whole course was well maintained, given the courses I normally play this was a very nice treat at a great price

Why Don't More Courses Do This
I'm sick of courses underachieving. This course is not that. It was everything it could have been and more.

Highland Reserve
Great course with challenging layout. Only water on the course is on the first hole. Topographical changes provide the challenge. Only negative is slow greens.

Highlands Reserve never disappoints!
One of my favorite courses in Central Florida. I live in Apopka and I don't mind the forty minute drive to Highlands Reserve.

Wonderful day of golf
Played about 10am. Brutal heat but we got water and Gatorade before going out. Refilled water at water stations and got cup of ice from the nice girl in snack bar. Check in was easy and pro shop staff were really fun to chat with.
Course is in great shape. It just keeps getting better every time. Staff is always friendly. Pace was right at 4 hours. Even got a coupon at check in to come back and play at a discount.
Definitely will be back!!

Torture
Unfortunately, this is the worst golf outing I’ve had in the past six years traveling to Orlando… We play as many golf courses as we can in the seven days that we are here and today was a sad sad disappointment. The course condition was actually pretty good. But the pace of play was horrendous. Our teatime was 915 in the parking lot was about half full so we figured would be pretty good. Well there was four foursomes in front of us and of them. The guys were playing in barefoot and had no concept of course etiquette… The ranger drove around, but I swear he was on some kind of medication because he didn’t say a word to anybody needless to say it was about a five hour round and the amenities were terrible. Just not a good outing and I would never ever play here again.

Nice conditions but
Course was in good shape, greens a little slow but rolled great. Good pace for as busy as it was. Scorching hot humid day. No cold water anywhere on the course
No cart service either. Made heat brutal. One other issue, many of the holes were right next to each other. Heard constant yelling "fore". Felt like a turkey shoot. Probably won't return.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the lack of cold water and cart service, especially on such a hot day, and for the discomfort from closely spaced holes. Thank you for your feedback; it is essential for our improvement. We hope you give us another try in the future.
Forgiving
Large fairways allow for small errors off the tee box, course is well kept in areas that matter most (100yrd and in) cool layout with elevations

Highland Reserve
A go to course. Easily accessible from theme parks via either 192 & 27 or I4 & 27. Greens can be slow.

The golf course was in good condition. The greens were slow but beautiful. Playing in Friday was a great plan. You can go wrong. But Summer is hot in Florida.

Rain stopped play!
First 9 holes in perfect weather then the heavens opened with a vengeance, Sheltered at the.Club house fir an hour then gave up. By the time we got to our villa overlooking the course the sun was out but absolutely soaked. 2 more weeks vacation left & still plenty of time to play this absolute gem of a course a few times! Greens are unbelievably good.

Great golf course with good pace of play
This is a nice and fun track with challenging greens depending on what time of year you play here.
#2 is a fun drivable par 4 and there are a couple reachable par 5s.
There are some brown and dirt type areas which aren’t desirable but it doesn’t take away from the fun of the golf course.
Pace of play is always great. Usually 4 hours, sometimes less.
What I really like about this course is that each hole has its own character. It’s not boring. And keeps you enagaged.
