Black Bear Golf Club

Only a few wet spots, but overall in great shape. Love playing this beautiful course.

Coming three days after hurricane Milton ran through here, the course was draining well, staff had worked hard to clear 90 percent of debris. Great lay out, one temp green, greens rolling a a good pace not too slow, but not scary fast. I like a quick green, greens couple of bad spots on a few but overall not terrible for fla this time of year.

You can tell they are trying to put money into the course and bring it back. Some of the greens had patches and hole number 6 is non existent. They have a flag in the middle of the fairway for the green. Overall for the layout and the conditions it is not worth an hour drive from Orlando to play this course. Maybe next season the course will be back to what it once was.

Course in great shape greens a little slow but overalll very good shape

Course is on the mend and recovering from being punched. Fairways and tee boxes in good shape. The other half of my twosome went to the range to hit a few balls that someone left and a staff member came out and picked up the balls. Told him he has to pay for range balls. Never seen anything like that before

Played Top Tracer today at Black Bear for the first time. Comfortable seating, good comfortable well ventilated bays with a place to put your bag and a great set up on computer monitors to receive all kinds of information about your game. It was an excellent way to warm up before playing the course. We also had fun playing the various famous courses that Top Tracer has to offer. All this before playing a round of golf. The course was in good shape and the club house food was great with good service. Way to go Black Bear Golf Course!

Greens are in terrible condition, unputtable. Course is very over grown. Would not recommend at all.

Beautiful course with nice elevation changes. Getting back to it's former self besides hole six. What can you do besides work on it or remove the trees

Driving range was great but the course, wow. All that I'll say. Way over priced

Course design is ok but nothing special. Course conditions are not great and should definitely be improved.

Unable to play sickness Golf now wouldn't refund money

Overall, the course was iin OK shape. Quite a few weeds in the rough areas. The 6th hole green was basically all dirt. This hole was replaced not too long ago, but it is back to worse than before. The guy that mows the greens must not have had a headlight on the mower, lots of missed areas around and on the green not mowed.

Worst part was the slow play of some groups in front of us. Ended up skipping the par 5 #14 so we could finish in a reasonable time.

I’m going to keep this short as I can, but…What a waste of time and money. I’m not sure what it is about this area of Florida, but course after course up this way is in HORRIBLE condition.

From RT to ED to FL to VH, ZS, all great layouts but dang, Each one of them is worse than the other and the greens, fairway, and traps at BB here are the worst of the bunch. I’m not sure about local expectations in this area but y’all need to get out more. Come down to the Orlando area. See what real golf course maintenance looks like!

I don’t blame the course as much as these people leaving these reviews. I’ve played this place for over 20 years now and to say this is the worst it’s ever been is very much understated. Maintenance costs money. Instead they spend it on some type of top golf apparatus instead of putting it where it belongs. (Which are all around now)

Previous reviewers……..either you work here. You’ve been paid for your review (NOT likely) or you just have NO idea what a 3,4, or 5 Star golf course even looks like!!!

Positives……..

Nice golf carts. People in the bar area are top notch. Very nice. Good personal people all around. That’s it.

Last words. 6th green (as well as many others here that are about to be similar), blow it up and start over again. How does the owner expect anyone to be able to putt on that??
