Black Bear Golf Club

After reading some bad reviews. I was hesitant to play there. They must have been somewhere else. Tees were good, fairways have plenty of grass. Greens were good, although they were slower than I prefer. All had grass, but 2 had some bare spots and 6 was a temporary green. Great deal for the money and one of the better courses in the area. Definitely going back soon.

The course was in very good condition. Just a couple of the greens had some sand to repair them. And #6 green was a temporary one but overall the greens putted true with decent speed. Tee boxes good. And fairways were beautiful. Top Tracer driving range. Very unusual course in that it was quite hilly. Really cool for a Florida course. I will warn you that most greens were quite tiny. But still fair. Very friendly staff! Overall a very good experience. Put it on your list.

Always a great course to play. Great value and the course is in good condition especially for the money. Love black bear and will come back soon!

great time playing here, staff were great , food was fantastic and the course conditions are getting much better, little far from port orange but love coming here

have played this course many times, and the conditions are getting back to what it used to be. I think the fairways were fantastic especially being five days after hurricane milton, the greens are close but not yet there and I will be back soon for another round.Love the fact this is family owned, the staff is really nice and there bar and food are excellent.

Considering the recent Hurricane, course was in great shape. Some traps had water in them. Green 6 is temporary. That problem precedes the Hurricane. Pro shop was super friendly and accommodating. I'll be back.

Greens were in terrible shape, fairways were in bad condition. The gentleman in the club house was totally unfriendly and barely answer your questions.

Only a few wet spots, but overall in great shape. Love playing this beautiful course.

Coming three days after hurricane Milton ran through here, the course was draining well, staff had worked hard to clear 90 percent of debris. Great lay out, one temp green, greens rolling a a good pace not too slow, but not scary fast. I like a quick green, greens couple of bad spots on a few but overall not terrible for fla this time of year.

You can tell they are trying to put money into the course and bring it back. Some of the greens had patches and hole number 6 is non existent. They have a flag in the middle of the fairway for the green. Overall for the layout and the conditions it is not worth an hour drive from Orlando to play this course. Maybe next season the course will be back to what it once was.
