Halifax Plantation
About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

Pretty course, nothing crazy though
Played a pair, 18 holes. Pretty course, if you hate water this is a great course for you. Only downside was they apparently were recently redoing the green so the smell of manure was incredibly strong. Would play again though, price is a little high for the value though.
Never Again
Course had been fertilzed with a fertilizer that smelled horrible. We left after nine holes , asked for a refund, but were denied. Ever smell pig s... t ? That was the smell Fairways were thin rough uncut.
Quality People Equal Quality Time
I have been playing the Halifax Plantation Golf Course for twenty-five years. It is now in the best condition ever. The entire staff at the club are well trained, friendly people who make time spent there a real pleasure. My compliments to management and the greenskeeper for their outstanding attention to the details that make golf there an outstanding experience.
Enjoyable
This course was better than our expectations, The greens were in good shape, the fairways also. The only issue was the grass just off the fairways was just high enough to hide a golf ball.
Slowest Round in over 50 years of golfing
Over 6 hours to play a round. No excuse for that. Not a marshal to be seen. Never again!
Pace of play
The course was very nice but the pace of play was ridiculous. When we got to the first tee there was a huge line waiting to tee off. It took us 5 and a half hours to play and we finished in the dark. There was no marshals to keep the pace moving which seemed ridiculous when they saw the number of people playing.
Halifax
Greens were in great shape but the fairways were rather thin. Sand traps were also very well kept.
For the money a great choise
Nice Layout
Wife and I enjoyed our day. Nice layout without many forced carries
Great difficult course
The greens at Halifax are rolling very nice, but there is not a flat straight putt to be found. Very challenging to make breaking putts. This course will test the average golfer
Highly recommend!
Well worth it to play Halifax Plantation if you are in/around the Daytona or Flagler Beach area. Really enjoyed the course and the overall experience.
No Staff Control - Poor pace, amenities & attitude.
This was my second time trying this course because the layout & conditions were nice the first time around. The course itself is pretty nice.
The downside is the clubhouse doesn’t seemingly enforce tee times or maintain pace of play. They do however make offhand comments at disabled veterans parking in a handicap spot, and question the legitimacy of their right to park there.
The clubhouse is old, the pace of play has taken 6 & 5 hours respectively on my rounds here. The staff isn’t friendly or professional. Ultimately despite a nice course, and great midway point to meet (Orlando & Jacksonville), I won’t ever play this course again.
Incredible greens
This has always been a favorite course of mine and even more so since they redid the greens. They are incredibly fast with subtle breaks making this course hard to score on especially with tough pin placements. A real challenge for players of all skill levels.
Fun in the wind
Very smooth putting, undulating greens. Able to use a variety of clubs. A good test of golf.
