About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

What a improvement
I was very surprised that the condition of the course had improved so much. Even though the first few tee boxes were being redone the course was great. Congratulations to the maintenance crew they have done a great job bringing it back to the quality of before. Greens were very nice and fast.
Vacation Golf
Very nice course, fairway and greens excellent condition. Pin placement was challenging. The No-see bugs were unexpected, be sure to carry bug spray, or you can purchase some in the pro shop.
Easy wide fairways. Not very interesting layout.
Nice wide faieways, large greens. Average golf course layout.and didnt find anything outstanding. The cart paths were in need of repair. No water stations except at the club house.
Fair deal
The course is in good condition. Unfortunately ruled by inconsiderate members which was experienced on the course and in the clubhouse. The Bar food is good but not worth the extended wait time.
The Rough is A Killer and the greens are near midseason fast!
Course is coming into form nicely, especially the greens. Hit the fairway, otherwise the bermuda rough will swallow your ball. This is a good local course for the deals on GolfNow! Pace of play affected by foursomes playing the tips, when their abilities suggested they should have played from the golds or whites. Keeping your ball in the fairway is essential at HP! It's a fun layout for a 4 hour round!!
Great layout and value
Overall the course was in great shape, fairways and greens well maintained. Tee boxes and 3rd cut of the fairway sides need better maintaining. Course layout is enjoyable, no houses along the fringe of the fairways.
Always a challenge
Halifax Plantation is always a challenge. It requires accuracy and, at mid-season, a deft putting touch. You will enjoy yourself, I'm sure, but practice your punch-outs while on the range -- chances are you'll need them a couple of times! Highly recommended, especially when a Hot Deal is available.
