Halifax Plantation
About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

Great Course
The owners have turned this course around immensely. It is in perfect condition. From Tee to Green everything is immaculate.. The greens keeper and staff are doing a great job! I will definitely play this course more!
Best
Absolutely the best course other than a private course I have played on in 4 yrs. They have and continue to do a great job of bringing this course back.
Group ahead was a bit slow, took us 5 hours to finish. Otherwise love the course. The rough is rough, the balls disappear or get swallowed up in the rough. Had fun overall.
Transformation
This place went from garbage to extremely nice in the 2years. Absolutely one of the best in the area right now.
The course was in very good condition, staff was very friendly I was able to start well before my tee time. The greens were perfect, the only minor problem was a couple tee boxes and a couple patches on 3 fairways. I'll definitely be back soon.
Surprisingly nice
Nice course, greens are fast with some crazy slopes, fairway in great condition. Hard to find your ball if you end up in the rough. Pace was slow. Well maintained.
Always in great shape. Been playing there since 1999 and probably as good as it’s ever been
It’s okay
There are some patchy spots on the fairway, overall the course is okay. I played an AM round and appreciated them letting me go out, but I didn’t know I would be behind this elderly golf league. Also the golf cart return area is super congested and confusing, and no offense the food is good but the pub smells…old. It just seems like an older club everyone was nice and there’s an ice and water machine which is great, but wasn’t the smoothest round waiting all day for old guys from the old man tees.
Long & shaggy
If you roll off the fairway by a few feet, you may have trouble finding your ball. Most of the fairway roughs are at least 2.5 inches high. Further away from the fairway is downright deep. Nearly all the greens were in good shape and on the fast side. Prior players do not rake the sand traps. Half of the tee boxes were in rough shape - furry and spotty. The staff members are always friendly.
Halifax Plantation
Course was in excellent shape. Staff was courteous and professional.
I gave it a 4 star for two reasons instead of a 5 star rating. It was very hot and there are no water coolers on the course. Fortunately, I had brought plenty but my playing partner who lives in the area had not. Also, the pace of play was very slow. No Marshall to push the groups ahead of us.
It was on a Saturday in the morning so the rest of the day it was probably slow.
Last I would recommend a beverage cart on weekends.
Enjoy this course
Nice design. And it's in fairly good conditions. Bunkers were washed out and pretty much unplayable. Greens rolled well. Yet alittle slow but it did rain day before. What was terrible was being backed up behind seven women playing as a group then having four groupa (two groups with onky two people). No Marshall to be seen and no cart person or water on course. Good course,!if yiu have the time
