About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

Golfer Reviews
Fast greens
Course is in great shape, with the greens running very fast. The rough was in need of a cut…you may lose balls here if you’re not in the fairway. Pace was ok but the group in front of us spent a lot of time eyeing up putts. Very easy to overshoot the hole and in some cases, the undulating greens will put your ball further away from the hole than it was to start with. The practice green is a must do to get the feel for what’s to come.
Interesting topography
The staff greeting us were great!
Not being from Florida, the Bermuda grass and sandy soil was a challenge at times. We enjoyed playing there.
There was a very slow threesome on the front resulting with 4 groups on a hole but they dropped out & we flew through the back nine.
Beautiful course in great condition
Really enjoyed my round at Halifax Plantation, great setting, greens were fast and in great shape, so were the fairways and T boxes. Roughs were a little rough to handle for me but hey, I should of put it in the fairway. Do not hesitate to play this golf you will have no regrets.
Terrific course for the money
I enjoyed the course and was impressed with how great the conditions of the greens were. The layout is good with a number of par 4s and 3s that are rather challenging. If you miss the green, good luck getting it up and down as you will find it hard with plenty of undulations and speed that is hard to gauge. I did not see a green that needed work. It was clear that the fairways were over-seeded as they were shaggy in places but you could still get a fine lye at all times. It was rather wet from all the rain that week but it did not impact the playability of the course.
Glad I played here
Read all the reviews and was a bit hesitant on condition. But it was in good shape. Greens were super smooth and perfect surface. Good fairways. Some tee boxes (tips) needed some attention so no feedback on other tees.
One of the best
This is in great shape pretty fairway and fast carpet like greens. If had to complain it would be some of the pin placement were a bit challenging.
Great value
We played with another couple from Alabama. Pace of play was perfect. The course is lady friendly with no real water holes. The staff were very helpful and personable. Will definitely come back when we ate in the area.
Improved but rough is ridiculous
Course conditions have greatly improved. However, they haven’t mowed the rough in what appears like a month. Good luck finding your ball even if it’s a yard off the fairway. Seriously, it’s not fun and kills pace of play looking for your ball that wasn’t that errant off the tee.
Give credit where credit is due
Course was in spectacular shape. Rough was thick so good luck finding your ball if you don’t hit it in the fairway. Kudos to the greens it was like putting on glass! Keep up the good work. Most golfers like putting on fast true greens and not putting on St Augustine slow greens. Shout out to the maintenance crew!
