Halifax Plantation

This course was very good at one time. It has gone down hill faster than any other local course. Let's start with the tee box; almost every hole had temp tee box hitting off the fairway. Let's look at the fairways; should there be grass on the fairways? Let's look at the greens; most greens have a disease and will soon be unplayable. Why do they not have any drinking water on the course? Why does management let this great course deteriorate to the point of almost not being playable? Why do they have the nerve to charge $50+ per round? What will happen when the Canadians and snow birds go north? I will tell you, no one will play this course for the price they charge.

Totally enjoyed our round. Would go back to golf again if in the area. Some challenging holes with dog legs and sand traps. Excellent club house with a nice bar and grill.

Overcharging for the quality of the course. Fairways were sparse and dry and greens were inconsistent. The positive was the staff - friendly and professional.

Once again Halifax is back to being a goat farm. Weeds are back in their brand new greens. Fairways are in horrible shape. Rough around the greens are ridiculous. Dirt bare spots all over. Highway robbery what they charge here compared to other local courses. Feel bad for the Superintendent. We know it’s not his fault. Can’t do much when management won’t give him any money to spend on staff and chemicals. Shame.

We played while it rained the majority of the time we played and much to my surprise the course handed the rain very well. The greens we’re in very good condition.

Greens were patchy but rolled fairly well. Fairways had very little grass. Very few interesting holes.

Overpriced considering the others we have seen

Starters are rude. Like you owe them. Course pace is horrible with no starters coming out to push things along. I will never go back again.

Great track. All the staff was super friendly. Cool layout. Greens were extremely fast with some tough pin locations. My only critique is that the tee boxes were awful. I'd play here again.

Slightly overpriced for condition of course, but well run and easy to enjoy. Cart paths are in poor condition and areas of fairways are not kept up as nice as a price like theirs would suggest.

Played with a resident who said new management is bringing the course back into shape and it was very evident. Nice layout, decent fairways and relatively smooth and fast greens. Would play again.

Played course numerous times and staff slow on improving tee boxes (most crowned), sparse fairways, and green conditions.
