Reliable!
Always know what you’re going to get at LeeHill. Great course, challenging and clean.
Run down
Greens were in poor shape and very slow due to poor maintenance. Bunkers were so rocky and full of weeds our group just pulled any balls out so we didn’t damage our clubs. Course was very dry and the mowing was inconsistent. I’m fine with playing a sub par course as long as the price reflects it. Not worth $65 at all.
Poorly maintained
Greens were extremely slow, bunkers had grass growing in them and appeared to be NOT maintained for a long time. Fairways were just ok. The course looks to be poorly maintained but is still asking a premium cost to play
Lee’s Hill
The course layout is very nice but the course condition is not great. The sand traps are terrible and overall condition isn’t great. Staff is very nice and everything moved well
Much improved
Course had some serious issues with their greens over that last year. But now they are much improved. Fun layout…very tight in places. Good value.
Course needs major overhaul IMO
Long time patron of this course. It was sort of a best kept secret, especially pre pandemic. I’ve heard management changed hands a time or two. I don’t know what’s going on; course is not up to par (no pun intended) sad because it’s a good layout. Needs to improve tremendously or I’m afraid it might fade into obscurity
(below) Average Course Conditions
Fairways were brown and bunkers overgrown with weeds.
However, the greens were in decent shape and the course layout can be challenging, but fun and achievable.
Once great, no more
I’ve played here for years and really like the layout but haven’t played this year until Father’s Day. First of all the starter was rude, I’ll just leave it at that. Second, the putting green was great but nothing like the greens on the course, they were in terrible shape. The fairways were also rough with little playable grass. The worst was the “sand traps” if you could even call them that. Many were rocky and had grass in them making them completely unplayable. There was no water on the course either to drink or to clean the golf balls. The pace was horrible because of a small midday tournament. This was my once one of my favorite courses but doubt if I will play again because it’s obvious they are not maintaining very well at all.
First time playing
Hidden Gem in Fredericksburg. Good value. Sand traps need work but the rest of the course is in great shape. Really enjoyed our time.
