Once great, no more
I’ve played here for years and really like the layout but haven’t played this year until Father’s Day. First of all the starter was rude, I’ll just leave it at that. Second, the putting green was great but nothing like the greens on the course, they were in terrible shape. The fairways were also rough with little playable grass. The worst was the “sand traps” if you could even call them that. Many were rocky and had grass in them making them completely unplayable. There was no water on the course either to drink or to clean the golf balls. The pace was horrible because of a small midday tournament. This was my once one of my favorite courses but doubt if I will play again because it’s obvious they are not maintaining very well at all.
First time playing
Hidden Gem in Fredericksburg. Good value. Sand traps need work but the rest of the course is in great shape. Really enjoyed our time.
Coming back
This course was in bad shape last summer/fall, but I’ll give where it is due; It was in good shape yesterday. Fairways are better and most of the greens were in excellent shape. Bunkers are still below average. We’ll see if they can make it back to the truly great course it used to be.

Course is rough. Greens are less than desirable. Fairways on the back 9 need some love too.

Course has great layout
They now have a new Superintendent he’s doing a great job the problem they were having with the greens has been fixed they are in good shape again sand traps still need work I would recommend this course

Such potential
I've been playing this course for over a decade. It's unfortunate to see the trajectory of the course. Fun layout, but the greens are trashed tee boxes are rough. Half the fairways haven't been mowed. Or they were partially mowed and stopped. So strange.
The putting greens were in bad shape , I understand it's growing season but we should have been told about the conditions
