Pleasant Round
Played the round with two retirees, one had served in the submarine service just like me. As usual I played the round for humility and achieved my bjective...Z
Some Green Problems on front 9, but OK
The 1st few greens had problem spots but the rest of course was fine. I played as a single and finished in under 2.5 hours.
Fun & challenging course in good condition.
Course is in good condition. Couple of greens had issues around the edges but very much playable and looks like they are working on it.
Price is very reasonable and staff is great.
Greens need work
I played Turtle Creek for the first time and generally speaking I did enjoy it, but the first five greens (especially the first green) had black mold and were not in very good condition. Once you got past the first five holes, the rest of the greens were fine. The layout was good but the greens were a bit unimaginative being mostly flat and not offering much difficulty. The greens were a bit slower than other greens I played in Florida, but I liked that as I feel more confident chipping a putting under those conditions. I would play there again.
No Better, No Worse
We played this course several years ago and had fond memories of a typical southern layout, and nothing has changed.
There is the mobile home type building with a deck on the back that serves as the pro shop, the large covered shed where gas-powered carts are stored and the starter's shack guarding the paths to the first and tenth holes.
Tee boxes are a hodgepodge - some in decent shape, others in definite need of TLC. Fairways offered great rollouts after a day of light rain and a scorching sun. Bunkers had not been raked in a while leaving them very hard. Greens were inconsistent at best - some slow, some fast, some in pristine shape, some with disease blotches and spots. Pace of play was normal for a Friday as we were a late morning group, and after chasing wayward tee shots and hunting numerous lost balls managed to still finish 4 hours later.
As long as the GolfNow Deal is still available we will be back.
Fair Price for a Decent Course
My dad and I played here not expecting much for the price we paid online, and we were shocked how enjoyable the course was. There were areas that were splotchy, but the overall course was fun to play. We had a good time and will play here in the future given the affordable rate and nice course layout.
Still alive and kicking
Enjoy playing here each week. May be narrow but able to play from adjacent fairways. Lol
Disappointed
Tee boxes not in use, markers set in fairways. Not well marked for yardage and no gps on carts. Fairways ok shape but the most of the greens were not in good shape. Many greens have significant bald spots and bumpy. I felt the fee a little high for the course and conditions. People were very nice and hope the conditions improve.
Tight course but bring water
The front 9 is a completely different course than the back 9 as far as forgiveness. Some of the greens and tee boxes were rough but overall the course was in good condition. The golf carts are old and dirty but they get the job done. It’s a good course for the money but don’t expect to be blown away. Also, it was around 98 degrees on the course and there was only water in about 3 locations even though they had places for water every 3-4 holes. We couldn’t refill water until we made the turn and there was no cart service either.
