The Natural at Beaver Creek Resort
About
The Natural at Beaver Creek Resort sits along the western shore of Otsego Lake. As its name implies, the course blends seamlessly into the beautiful surroundings. The challenging layout requires accuracy so don't let the scenery distract you too much. Trees line the meandering fairways and water hazards come into play throughout. Strategically placed bunkers lurk along the greensides as well. The front nine is somewhat tight but the back nine spreads out nicely. Before finishing the front nine, golfers will face one of the course's toughest holes, the par-4 eighth. This tricky risk-reward hole has trouble everywhere, including tall pines, two water hazards, and bunkers. You can play it safe with a long iron or 3-wood down the right but you'll be facing an intimidating and long carry over wetlands.

#3, second shot Photo submitted by uPKKY6157PK on 08/04/2014
A hidden gem
This course is a hidden gem. The pace of play, and course conditions are excellent. It's not a long course, but it's challenging and fun. This a great alternative to the big name resort courses in the area.
Seems short on the card, but long shots needed to carry the water
You have to hit straight to avoid the woods on both sides of every hole. #1, #8, and #18 have big water hazards to carry on the 2nd shot, or 3rd if you don't hit it 260 down the middle from the blue tees. Well-maintained, good variety of holes, used every club, scenic, pleasant walk in the woods.
Northern Michigan Vacation Golf
Course was in excellent condition. Scenic holes with various elevations. Quick & delicious food at the turn.
Fantastic deal!
This course was in excellent shape and very fun. We could not believe the bang for the buck. I will be sure to play the Natural any time I'm in the area
fun course
greens in good shape, some narrow fairways, water and woods. Good shots get rewarded.
Great course for a beginner like me.
Staff and facilities where great. Course really offered an opportunity to try many different shots with beautiful scenery all around. The only thing they can improve on is repaving some of the cart paths and some more signs as to where you are going. Great pricing even without using the app. I will be going back!
Beautiful Setting
Beautiful course! Well worth playing. Nice rolling terrain in a gorgeous northern Michigan setting. Only negative thing I found was that the rough was really deep on the back side. Don't really need a 4"-6" rough for a course with lots of natural obstacles. Other than than, it was a pleasure to play and definitely will return.
Wonderful!
Staff was so nice and wonderful people!!!
We will definitely go back. And, you have to check out the adorable cabins to rent.
Fairway Rough
The course was well groomed and taken care of. The rough outside the fairway was extremely long and made it super challenging to hit the ball out of it. I enjoyed playing the Natural and would consider playing there again.
Much Improved - but no need for US Open rough
The new owners have done a nice job with the greens and fairways. The course is a very picturesque, up-north tree-lined course. However, the fairways are narrowed by not only the trees but by the length of the rough. The fairways are only 25 - 30 yard across, protected by the trees and the 4-5 inch rough, consequently, playability is a factor (which should make "replay-ability" a concern for the owner).
the natural is unnaturally great
Great course, great value! Good or bad, we had the course to ourselves.
This course has been well taken care of.
I loved playing this course with the natural beauty and the challenging holes, even though my score wasn't where I would like it to be. (certainly NOT the courses fault)
Rough
Stay out of the rough and you will do fine. This can be said about most courses, but especially this one.
The course was in excellent condition
I typically play this course two or three times a year.condition and care and maintenance of the course was excellent, I think the condition of the course was the best I've played this year. The course has several water features and marsh features that do present a challenge. The greens are a little on the large size and very well maintained and a little faster than the other courses I've played this year. I intend on playing this course several more times this year.
The Natural Gaylord
Every thing was great. The bunkers had a lot of stuff growing in them. If it wasn't for golf now.com it would be kind of pricey.
Short tight course that punishes you for going into the rough
Course was in very good condition, except the greens had been fertilized so it made it extremely frustrating to putt on these moderately fast greens. I didn't think there were any cheap holes but you definitely wanted to stay in the fairway, because thick rough made up for shortness of holes
Nice course at a good price
First time playing this course. The weather was great and the course was in good condition. The staff was friendly.
Beautiful Day for Golf!
The course was in pretty good shape considering the winter we just had, staff was extremely helpful, all in all a great day of golfing.
Great course
Better hit it straight on this course as trees line every hole on both sides. Course is under new ownership and they are making improvements to take this course from good to great. Great value course that I highly recommend.
Excellent Course
Had a great time playing the Natural in Gaylord. This course was in very good shape for the time of year.
