Hidden in the folds of the Southern Nevada desert is the lush oasis of Rhodes Ranch Golf Club. The abundance and variety of water features characterize the golf course. Ponds and lakes come into play frequently. There are also mature palms lining the gently rolling fairways and generous greens. The club is known for the immaculate maintenance of the verdant tropical landscape. The course is player-friendly while at the same time offering Las Vegas golfers some unexpected challenges. The layout boasts a set of four impressive par 3s including the scenic third hole, which requires a tee shot over a pond. The designer, Ted Robinson, touted the holes as the best he's ever designed. Rolling mounds and strategic bunkering as well as the occasional multi-tiered green make the golf course more difficult, but there are wide fairways and ample landing areas to provide a balance. The playability of the course combined with the reasonable rates, especially for Las Vegas golf, has earned the club a popular following.

One of the nicer courses in Vegas

Rhodes Ranch and it's sister course Chimera (in Henderson) are two of the prettiest, fun courses in the Las Vegas area and they're always in great shape, too.

I was only in the sand on two fairways and hit good shots out of them, so I can't rate the greenside bunkers, but every other facet about the course itself was excellent as far as play goes. Rough was lush, but not penal, fairways nice, greens have little undulation and are medium/slow, good for amateurs. The recent housing additions have taken some of the teeth out of Rhodes, however. The former signature par-3 (#3) has been seriously shorted, a wonderful par-5 (#5) is now a boring, short par-4 and the following long par-4 after it (#6) is now a driveable one, so it's become a pretty soft track, challenge-wise.

Sadly, they've also increased the rates and charge for warmup balls on the range now, so you'll pay $10-20 more to play a shorter course, but the aesthetics and prime conditions still make for an enjoyable round.

Nice Course

We really enjoyed the course. The only drawback was the course Marshall. He continued to drive back and forth between us and the group ahead of us. Both groups (group ahead of us was not with us) played the front 9 in two hours. We finally stopped and asked him why he was harassing us by driving around us so much and he couldn’t give us an answer. After that we never saw him again. But the 6 or 7 holes he did was awful; he obviously didn’t understand golf because he would drive his noisy gas cart near us when we were hitting the ball.

Worth it

It may be $70 to play but its worth it. Lush fairways, good greens and good pace of play. Aside from maybe chimera this is the best in shape course in the valley. Construction is done affecting the golf course so now it's worth to pay. Only bad thing is for the price they still make you pay for practice balls. Only downside.

Best condition in Vegas

We golf all around Vegas, all year. We played Rhodes Ranch in April 2021 and the greens, fairways and tee boxes are the best we've seen in Vegas this season.

So slow.

Slowest round I have ever played in my life. Way too many golfers on the course. Ranger doesn't say anything to anyone. The kids at the starter were doing their best but there's little they can do when it's jam packed. I suggest the golf club take a few less reservations and space the starts a bit better. I highly doubt greed will allow this but better pace of play would get this golf course 5 stars instead of 4.
