Siena Golf Course
About
Gripping it and ripping it may be in vogue, but course architect team Brian Curley and Lee Schmidt are not going to let that be the extend of your strategy at Siena Golf Club.
This Las Vegas course is about shot-making more than bombing away. Siena's 97 pot bunkers are arranged to force frequent strategic decisions. Sometimes discretion is the better part of scorecard valor at Siena.
Hooking the ball every which way is paid for dearly at Siena. It's best to go with the clubs you can hit reasonably straight and give up a little distance.
Views of the surrounding mountains are complemented by six different water bodies, including Lake Siena. You'll be strategizing in some striking scenery.
"I don't think you'll come away impressed with this course," marketing director Mick Toscano said. "I think you'll come away awestruck."

Beautiful day in Vegas Photo submitted by u000005603476 on 03/19/2013
Too Slow
Two tee times behind when we started, things got worse, slow slow slow. We never saw a marshal, which I normally like. We had a 1:20 tee time and finished at dark on hole 15. Speed things up or reduce your tee prices Sienna.
Great round
Really nice course. Staff was super friendly. We had a great time.
Nice greens
Desperately needed a marshal monitoring play.. never saw one.. the group in front of us played super slow.. and worse yet, they we driving their carts right up to the green!
Nice Day at Siena
Played while visiting Vegas. I had never played this course, and the reviews were good, so we gave it a go.
Bag drop guy was helpful. Same for the pro shop guy and starter. Course has a nice grass range and practice putting green. There is no short game practice area.
Conditions were really good, with the exception of a few of the tees. Fairways were great. The rough was “sticky”, with the ball sitting up a bit, but still a tough out. The greens ran fast and true with subtle breaks. The layout is engaging with great views of the snow-capped mountains. There is a bit of water and enough elevation change to make it interesting.
There are a lot of comments on the bunkers. We found a mixed bag. Most of the sand was pretty coarse and it would pack down a bit. This made fairway bunker shots easier. You could play it like playing off a driving range mat. Some of the green side traps I found had softer sand, but it was thin. If you go down after it, you catch the gunite under the sand and hit a semi-blade shot, so beware.
Starter let us out early as there weren’t a ton of groups. Pace of play was great, at 3:45. Overall, we had a great time. Recommended.
Great course and value.
Booked on last minute. My wife non golfer came too and course staff very accommodating allowing us use of buggy. Best to call to check availability prior.
Course was in great condition. Played with 3 members who were great fun and offered plenty of advice for course management. Greens very quick and overall fairways and semi in great condition. Only negative would be the bunkers. Visually fantastic but playability tough due to hard sub surface and lack of depth of sand.
H.I. 1.9 from UK.
Great afternoon of Golf
Course was in very nice conditions. A few bunkers needed sand as they had small stones.
The only complaint was the pace of play. Almost 5 hours and 15 minutes. Maybe spread the tee times out an extra minute would help. One ranger came by and says it will be slow out there. He could have tried to move groups along, rather than acknowledge slow play.
Will definitely go back, hopefully pace of play has improved.
Great course
Played on a Thursday , course in great condition,
Pace of play u see 4 hours . Highly recommended .
Well maintained course
Very nice course. I arrived early. The staff allowed me to go earlier because it would be 4 people geoup ahead my original tee time. There is no red tee so I played the green tee. Bot too much challanes from this tee and the green was fast which I luke. I was able to finish this first 9 hiles in 1.5 hours. Overall it was a very good experience there.
Good course of
So friendly staff, good layout Middle bunkers are so challenging
First Time
Course was excellent, good service, well maintained. Sunday tee time at noon was a painful wait however took 5 and a half hours to play.
Great when it's empty
This was my first time playing the course in the dormant winter and the conditions were a pleasant surprise. The rough was an inch thick and actually held balls, the course was green and lush throughout. No brown dormant rough where balls roll into waste like so many courses in Vegas in the winter. The fairways were well watered, as were the greens. The greens were good speed, tee boxes were cut short.
Staff cleaned my clubs before and after the round. Check-in was pleasant and there was a starter to manage play. Carts had GPS, the course had water bottle refill stations on several holes as well as multiple golf ball cleaners.
My only critique about the conditions were that the fairway bunkers were crushed rock instead of sand. There are a few muddy spots on the course, but it looked like they were working on drainage.
The reason this course is a 4-star and not a 5-star is because management spaces tee times out every 8-minutes. Rounds are slow here on packed tee sheets (weekend mornings). Additionally, the value isn't there. $65 for Twilight is steep, and $100 on mornings is resort course pricing for a residential retirement community course.
Top 5 im Vegas easy
I play a lot of golf, atleast 3 times a week and ive been to almost every course in Las Vegas except the Wynn. Me and my buddy always get paired with the best people which makes any course 10x better! Course is amazing, a lot of hazards and open fairways. My only complaint would be the people who play there do not repair their divots and end up making them look worse then they are. After reseed the greens never looked so clean and then people ruin them. The staff are all friendly and the starter is hilarious! Love this course and this will be a frequent visit for me and my buddies!
Excellent conditions right now
This is a retirement community course that is skeptical of every outsider. The starter literally followed me down hole 1 to watch and see if I would do anything nefarious. The course sends messages on the cart in capital letters about pace of play, while cramming as many people on the tee sheet as possible with 8 minutes tee time intervals. I would only recommend playing here when the tee sheet is empty in front of you.
If you can deal with the odd starter behavior, attempts at being shaken out of money on par 3's for "charity", and find a spot on the tee sheet with no one in front of you, it's a nice course to play. The layout is fun and not too challenging with large elevated greens, wide fairways, and a good amount of strategically placed bunkers. There are beautiful mountain views and a variety of desert vegetation with a few water hazards. You have downhill par 3's, par 3's over water, long par 3's, doglegs, water hazards running down the side of a hole, front green bunkers, elevated greens, and strategically placed pins.
The course is in excellent condition right now and gets plenty of water. The greens are soft, the rough is over an inch thick, and there's plenty of seed on the fairways and greens. The tee boxes are flat and in good condition. The rough is thick and green. The fairways are well watered. Greens roll well for a public course. I played a nearby country club a week before Siena and preferred Siena.
Full price while doing overseed.
They still pushed 4somes out every 8 minutes while the entire course was frazed for overseed.
