Bull Run Golf Club

First time playing the course, everything is right in front of you. Greens were soft and a little slow but in very good shape. Rough was a little thin in areas but it is also late July in the area. The maintenance staff was out working on edging traps and were courteous. I will play it again.

I have played Bull Run 10s of times over the last 20 years. The new course manager has got the greens in excellent shape, albeit a little slower than I would like, and there are many places cut back to regular length rough that used to be waist high grass, which should improve the pace of play. I have always loved the layout. You don't see anything but golf course and woods on 75% of the holes, a true rarity in the Washington DC suburbs. There is a gas station just to the north of the entrance to the club across from the fire station that has the best home grown tomatoes you will ever eat.

We played on a Sunday afternoon and had a great time! Staff was engaged and friendly. Course was in very good condition. I'm a little concerned about the ground hornets in some greens. Didn't see any hornets but their homes were on the greens.

Flexibity through GolfNow allowed us to chose a good time at a great price. Can't wait to play again.

Pretty and interesting layout, but wide open fairways with plenty of bail out in the rough. Greens were a little slow, but overall in great shape and a very pleasant round. No problems with pace of play on Sunday afternoon....Got a great rate with GN so it was a good deal.

It was a last minute decision to head out to Bull Run and play. Had never been here before and saved myself about 30 bucks by booking online. The staff were very friendly, and helpful. The practice and warm up facilities are really very good. Highly recommend you show up early to take advantage of it. The starter was great and full of very useful intel. The course was really great. I was surprised how nice it was. We got out there early so the course had some moisture, so the greens were rolling slow. That changed after they dried up. Then they were rolling fast and true. Hole number 18 is all you can handle, and you have to be smart if you want even the slightest chance for a birdie.
I will definitely be back to this course for more, and you should give it a try without hesitation.

Course was in great shape from the tee box to the greens. Great pace of play. Took my group just a little under four hours to complete our round with several groups in front of us. All facilities are in great shape and the staff was frendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Bull Run Golf course to anyone who is looking for a great round of golf.

Spectacular views, beautiful country club setting, and magnificent golf course to match. Course layout will challenge your game and give you a chance to practice/make practically every kind of shot. Do bring a few extra balls...

Course was in great shape and pace of play was decent for golf in the area.

I went out as a single and found some great guys to play with.

The marshals want you to enjoy the round so they pay attention to the pace.

This has become my go to course as I live in the South Riding area.

Pace of play was sort of slow, but not enough to make me not come back. I played the best round of my life and I have been playing golf for 25 years. The course is long, but not a ton of trouble. I look forward to coming back there.

It's a wonderful course and is in wonderful shape. I spray the ball around so I like the wideness of most of the holes.

The downside was the pace of play. The front nine took three hours, the back up to just over two. It was busy, but the starter could have done more to facilitate the pace.

Love the layout of this course. It was cart path only and rightfully so, but it took over 5hrs and 10 minutes which is annoying, but great course!

Second time playing Bull Run. The fairways were cut tight, greens were perfect. Lots of rain kept us on cart paths which is tough on this course if you don't hit every shot straight. Course was very fair, rewarding good shots and penalizing poor ones. Had my share of both. Staff is very professional and attentive. One of the best public courses in the area in that regard. Pace of play was great, never had to wait to tee off on a Saturday afternoon.

Very nice course, very good layout. Pace was slower than I would have liked. I believe it is very expensive at $97.00. If the price was more reasonable this would be one of my favorite courses.

You pay full price for a product you expect to get what you pay for. Not what happened the last 3 times we played here. Tee boxes on many holes moved up or in bad shape, fairway traps with no sand just dirt, all other traps crusty like grounds crew never grooms them. Nice place but more attention to details like those mentioned would be great. As for pace of play, took 5 hours to play yesterday at 10:30 tee time on a Wednesday and not 1 marshal found all day to help speed up the slow groups

Everything about Bull Run was great, except pace of play. By the 5th hole a phone call the pro shop was made to have the marshal come out and move things along. We didn't see the marshal until the 14th.

I would not expect to play a 5+ hour round on any championship course with a 9AM tee time.

Our foursome truly enjoyed our round. We played 18 in 3 hours and 15 minutes. The course was in excellent shape and the greens ran true. We have played the course a few times this season and have been very pleased with the course condition, staff and speed of play.

Course staff was friendly, courteous, professional. Course was in great shape. Food arrival was a little slow at the end of the round, but there was a wedding being prepared for at the same time. Food was delicious.
