About
Named after the springs that snake through the layout, Delaware Springs Golf Course is a scenic links-style track that is one of the better values in Texas golf. The low prices and friendly service, combined with a picturesque and challenging golf course, make this a Hill Country favorite.
Architects Dave Axland and Dan Proctor built a natural-looking course that fits the terrain perfectly. The course is nestled into the rolling hills and oak trees along the Highland Lakes, playing 6,891 yards from the tips. During your round you’ll encounter lush fairways frequently loaded with bunkers, large greens that slope severely, and numerous bump and run shots. The designers added a few original touches, such as the descriptive Scottish names for each hole (the 18th is called "Hame" for the home hole).
Another interesting design twist involved placing the signature hole as the opener. Playing 504 yards to a par 5, no. 1 is best attacked with an iron into the left side of a sloping, tree-lined fairway. The creek cuts into the landing area, making it a testy tee shot. The second shot must bend around the dogleg to the left and over the creek, and the approach is into the green shaded by large trees on the right.

Greens punched and sanded...
It would've been nice to know the greens were all punched and full of sand...other than that, it's beautiful Delaware Springs - a great golf course.
Better Public in Area
Nice tee to green. Everything seem to be fine on course maintenance. The only draw back was pace of play it was a snail pace 10 to 15 minutes on tee box every hole. Saw a marshal at tee box and on course, the one on course seemed more interested in finding golf balls than pace of play. I usually do not comment on pace of play but this was slow.
Everything about this course was perfect except the pace of play. For whatever reason, it was very slow.
Challenging but fun
Overall a great bang for your buck. Fairways and tee boxes are in good condition. The greens are in excellent condition, but tough as they come. Fast and significantly undulated. Pace of play is slow. Our round was 5hr 30min.
In Great Shape
Greens fast, but a little hard and didn’t hold and shots. But the course was in great shape. Marshall’s around on both sides. Staff was very friendly. Quick round.
Just Average
Nothing tricky or special about the course design/holes. Tee boxes were in great shape but the fairways were already hard (and it’s only February). Staff (pro shop) lacked a friendly demeanor. And pace of play was horrific. They had too many people bunched together and should spread out the tee times by another couple of minutes.
Excellent course
One of the best courses I played in central Texas! Very good technical course
Pretty nice course
Overall it was a nice place to play. I only gave it average score for conditions based on being the course is in it's dormant state. I would think during growing season it would be fun to place to play and pleasing to the eye.
Consistent Enjoyment Course
Can always count on DS being a welcomed challenge with consistent greens and course worthy obstacles to heighten the joy of golf. Unlike other courses, which encompass unnecessary moguls and severely titled fairways throughout the course, DS just hits you with quick greens, well placed traps and doglegs at just the right distance to challenge your game. Was a Monday and while we didnt see the bev cart we did see a marshall about every 6 holes which is always nice to keep play moving.

Wet and rainy….
The course was as good as could be expected considering it was raining the first 4 holes, and prior to our arrival.
Staff was more than adequate considering we were virtually the only 2 players out there, it being Friday, and it being right before the Holidays.
Always enjoy playing Deleware though….

One of the best public courses in the area
Greens are rolling fast while soft enough to hold approach shots. Fairways aren’t perfect but they’re greener than most and very forgiving to straight shooters. Trees and bunkers provide a good challenge (especially on windy days) making the course more fun to play every time.
