About
Named after the springs that snake through the layout, Delaware Springs Golf Course is a scenic links-style track that is one of the better values in Texas golf. The low prices and friendly service, combined with a picturesque and challenging golf course, make this a Hill Country favorite.
Architects Dave Axland and Dan Proctor built a natural-looking course that fits the terrain perfectly. The course is nestled into the rolling hills and oak trees along the Highland Lakes, playing 6,891 yards from the tips. During your round you’ll encounter lush fairways frequently loaded with bunkers, large greens that slope severely, and numerous bump and run shots. The designers added a few original touches, such as the descriptive Scottish names for each hole (the 18th is called "Hame" for the home hole).
Another interesting design twist involved placing the signature hole as the opener. Playing 504 yards to a par 5, no. 1 is best attacked with an iron into the left side of a sloping, tree-lined fairway. The creek cuts into the landing area, making it a testy tee shot. The second shot must bend around the dogleg to the left and over the creek, and the approach is into the green shaded by large trees on the right.

One of the best public courses in the area
Greens are rolling fast while soft enough to hold approach shots. Fairways aren’t perfect but they’re greener than most and very forgiving to straight shooters. Trees and bunkers provide a good challenge (especially on windy days) making the course more fun to play every time.

Nice course
Course was nice and in good shape overall. Range was no-drivers downwind and hitting off old mats, but the putting green was good. Very average food. Lots of construction between certain holes but the signs were helpful to navigate around it.

Challenging tee shots
Definitely a solid course with good greens and a fun layout for the most part, but you're definitley in trouble if you're not finding the fairways. Going to be a long day unless you stay sharp off the tee.

Awesome
I’ve played all public courses within an hour of Austin and this one takes the crown, conditions similar to star ranch which is by far best public venue in area. Where it separates itself from the rest is pace of play and the views, never felt like I was playing in people’s backyards. I played 18 solo in just under 2.5hrs, an hour faster than any round I’ve had in town. Greens are ROLLING

Great TX Hill Country Gem
The course was in great shape and the greens rolled true. Given the weather conditions recently in south Texas it was really in remarkable shape. Staff were helpful and friendly! Played a Horseshoe Bay Resort Course the day before and we liked this one better!

Great Course Value
Best kept secret of the north austin area. Great course conditions, especially considering recent weather. Fairways are wide open and green, soft lies and no bare patches. Greens are in good condition, only a couple of tee boxes were spotty or bumpy. Great value for the price, staff was friendly.

excellent
All tee boxes and greens were in great shape. off the edge of fairways as expected are crispy. All water stations had plenty of cold water. Only two tee boxes were a little rough and you can still hit off them. And only one or two greens on their fringes have some lack of grass IE dirt. Overall surprisingly well maintained.
