About
Named after the springs that snake through the layout, Delaware Springs Golf Course is a scenic links-style track that is one of the better values in Texas golf. The low prices and friendly service, combined with a picturesque and challenging golf course, make this a Hill Country favorite.
Architects Dave Axland and Dan Proctor built a natural-looking course that fits the terrain perfectly. The course is nestled into the rolling hills and oak trees along the Highland Lakes, playing 6,891 yards from the tips. During your round you’ll encounter lush fairways frequently loaded with bunkers, large greens that slope severely, and numerous bump and run shots. The designers added a few original touches, such as the descriptive Scottish names for each hole (the 18th is called "Hame" for the home hole).
Another interesting design twist involved placing the signature hole as the opener. Playing 504 yards to a par 5, no. 1 is best attacked with an iron into the left side of a sloping, tree-lined fairway. The creek cuts into the landing area, making it a testy tee shot. The second shot must bend around the dogleg to the left and over the creek, and the approach is into the green shaded by large trees on the right.

First time user of this service. Terrible online provider - had a medical situation for other player and was not able to cancel and customer service basically said - 'So sad - too bad'. Tried to tell me that since I agreed to their terms and conditions, there was no recourse because the cancellation was not weather related.
Strongly urge anyone not to use this service - call the course directly and make your tee-time.

Great course. Felt a bit rushed
Hi we were a group of average, 10-18 handicap golfers. The staff kindly allowed us to go out as a group of 5. We are pace of play complainers all the time, but felt extremely rushed by the group behind us. We even had two back to back tee times. The reason for this is each player behind us seemed to live in the neighborhood and had their own carts. They would hit and drive directly to their own ball and we can see them waiting for us. Around hole 11 we asked if they would like to pass and in a very friendly manner told us no thanks. They would hit up on us as we were walking off the greens even after we asked if they'd like to pass. We thought they might be only playing 9, so we didn't wait after 9 like we probably should have. Enjoyed the course for the price!

Hidden Jewel!!!
I'm almost hesitant to leave a comment because I want to keep this place a secret. This is by far my favorite course in central Texas. It's by far the most bang from the buck. The ladies in the cafe are AWESOME!!! Prices AWESOME. Greens are always is excellent condition. Well worth the trek out to Burnet IMO.

Great value. Good pace. Smooth greens
Never played it. My group hadn’t either. No scorecard on the carts. Some shots are hard see from the tee.. 3-5 shots you run out of room, fairway turns and it’s hard to tell visually. If you play it a bunch it will be fine. But the fairways aren’t defined with hills or features that show you it’s turning. Greens perfect. Couldn’t even make a ball mark on approach.

Lazy Friday round
Wasn’t sure what to expect after reading mixed reviews.
For a Friday, the course was packed around 1100, which wasn’t too bad on pace of play. We had a older group of three in front of us who tended to play PGA-style on every green.
Would recommend a bell or a mirror for #9 tee so they can see the green. I thought it was clear and drove the green. I heard about it two holes later from an older golfer.

The guy that checked me in was not very accommodating . The lady in the restaurant was friendly , courteous and patient . The course was in very good shape . The carts are starting to show their age .

Well Maintained Course with a Good Layout
It takes 40 minutes to drive to Lago Vista for a below average course that’ll take you 5 hours to play. Delaware is 10 minutes farther, far nicer, and I finished in 3 hours and 15 minutes today. It’s worth the drive.
